DRUMMIMG INFO

DRUMMING INFO: (Drums / Percussion / Frattior) Hi there! Here's some quick info about myself and thank you for your time and interest! Here goes... I play all genres of music, 35 years of experience, I draw from a wide range of musical influences, like Blues, Rock, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Soul, Country, Texas Swing, Zydeco, New Orleans Second Line, and Latin music. First started playing in my Dads' Jazz Combo when I was 15. Went on to college with a full music scholarship to Austin Peay State University (percussion major / piano minor). I have lived outside of Nashville most of my life, toured in the US, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. Toured in Rock and Funk bands through most of the 80's, started playing on the Grand Ole Opry in 1987, up until 2000. I continued to work with other musicians and after the Orpy I was working with a Blues/Funk/Zydeco band from Baton Rouge/New Orleans. In 2006 I was awarded the “Music City Blues Drummer of the Year” by the Nashville Blues Society. In Dec. 2008 I moved to Austin, TX, where I currently live. I had been to Austin before a few years earlier when I was flown there to do some recording for Texanna Records. I have been lucky to perform with some great musicians (there is a short list of them below).

I have a drumming CD “Beats Grooves & Drum Solos” on the ACM label. I also have twenty-Six releases in ambient, world and new age music genres. They can be heard on DATELINE NBC, SPIKE TV, UNIVISION, OUTDOOR CHANNEL, and SONY PLAY STATION.

Here's a nice quote about the groooooove: Country music star Wynonna Judd says this about The Stew ("Delicious Blues Stew" a group i played with for 8 years). "I have the greatest memory of the first time I ever saw them play. I happened to be at the Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar in Nashville with my mother. We were there to see Jimmy Vaughan, and after his set, they came on stage. The next thing I know my mother and I were dancing in the aisles. THEY GROOVE MY BRAINS OUT!!! You need to experience the joy and celebration in their music like I have. It’s truly a healing experience." - Wynonna Judd
