HISTORY OF THE BAND

1995

● The band is formed as a side-project of Five Iron Frenzy, soon after its founding, under the name Astronaut. Members include Keith, Dennis, and Reese.
● An early recording of "Two-twenty-nine" and and unreleased song entitled "Albatross" are recorded for local compilations on 5280 Records.

1996

● Astronaut is one of two groups to open for Five Iron Frenzy's first CD release party. Their set includes 3 songs, and is horrible due to lack of preparedness.

1999

● Astronaut is signed to 5 Minute Walk Records.
● The band's name is changed from Astronaut, to Brave Saint Saturn, to avoid being one of six with the same name.

2000

● January: the band's first album So Far From Home is recorded in two weeks, far to fast, and with very little time to polish the songs before their tracking. Andrew Verdecchio, although not an official member, plays drums on most of the tracks. Additional FIF alum include Scott Kerr playing guitar on "Independence Day" and Micah Ortega playing turntables.
● June: Do Far From Home is released.
● July: Brave Saint Saturn plays its second show at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, IL. Although the crowd spills out of the tent, the show is once again lacking, as Five Iron Frenzy was the band's primary focus.

2001

● June: BS2 plays its third show at Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, CA.
● July: Brave Saint Saturn plays another set at the Cornerstone Festival. The show is booked at the Acoustic Stage, which proves to be too small. This, their fourth show, proves to be better than any to date.
Late July: Brave Saint Saturn plays a rainy set at the Purple Door Festival outside of Lancaster, PA.
● August: BS2 plays a record 4th show in a year, this time at Soulfest at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire.

2002

- Brave saint Saturn plays its 7th show ever, opening for Superchi(k) at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, CO.
● Verdecchio becomes an official member of the band.

2003

● March: Brave saint Saturn releases their second full length album, The Light of Things Hoped For, to rave reviews.
● July: The fourth and final Cornerstone Festival set is also their eighth in history.

2004

● September: Brave saint Saturn plays its ninth, and last show to date at a festival in Edmonton, Alberta.

2008

● September: The third installment of the Saturn Five Trilogy, Anti-Meridian, is released.
