About me: Mission: To support and progress the art of women.
History: In 2000, Brawdeville began in Wilmington, NC, when a lone actress realized that parts for women usually fell under one of two categories: the bitch or the love interest. Where were all the rich, bawdy, three-dimensional roles that challenged female performers? She decided she wanted to offer female performers a more creative, collaborative opportunity to express their original works however they wanted. Three months later, their first show was mounted in the parking lot of Vintage Values, a popular second-hand clothing store.
Brawdeville then developed a season of four mixed-media shows per year, performing for sold-out crowds at City Stage, a rooftop bar/theater venue in Wilmington. The troupe performed successfully for five years and is now ready to reunite with many of its original members in New York City. Most recently, we have gained fiscal sponsorship from The Field (thanks to Apple Girls Productions!), a New York-based service organization that assists independent artists.
Description: We produce one-and-a-half hour, all-original, mixed media performances featuring an all-female cast and crew. We perform four shows per season and each show focuses on a specific theme. Past shows have featured spoken word, monologues, commentary, sketch/improv/stand-up comedy, short films, slide shows, live painting, modern dance, ballet, live music and puppetry. We even built a coffin once that someone later purchased at a yard sale.

I like cold beverages, but I LOVE drunk messages! How great to wake up to that. The think is, I know you ladies were just trying to get me in bed. That's okay. I expect that kind of thing.
On a different note, Cullen and his girl Madison will be there this weekend to see Deans show. I know they're not me, but you guys should try to get together with them. Send hugs my way and shit.
i have a really hard time asking for help but right now, i have to swallow my independence and just ask...
we are trying to raise money for our puppy's treatment and hospitalization. parvo is often fatal for dogs and Blue has been hit with a very tough strain. our vet has been taking very good care of her and i can only be hopeful that she will fully recover. we have spent $1200 in three days and i will gladly empty my entire savings account but i will not have enough money for five to ten more days of treatment. i cannot and do not want to imagine our family without Blue.
several of my amazing friends have offered what they could afford and it was suggested that i try to raise money online. so, i set up this website. i will be forever grateful to anyone who can give. but even if you cannot donate money, please send your positive energy and thoughts to Blue!
