Patricia and Gilberto Leao are the leading producers of Brazilian artists and culture in Los Angeles, and have been bringing the mesmerizing beauty of Brazil's performing arts regularly to Los Angeles since 1989.
Brazilian Nites Productions has been successfully organizing events since its inception, bringing people of different ages and nationalities together to experience the allure and character of Brazilian culture. The company produces several shows each year, including two annual events: the Brazilian Summer Festival at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and the largest Brazilian Carnaval in the west coast in February.
Among the many awards given to Brazilian Nites, the two more outstanding are:
A scroll from the County of Los Angeles, signed by all four Councilmen, has recognized Brazilian Nites Productions as the leading producers of Brazilian artists and culture in Los Angeles in 2001 and a most recent one in February of 2009, a second scroll was awarded to the Brazilian Carnaval signed by the Mayor Villaraigosa, the Council Tom LaBonge and LA City Council Gil Garcetti.
Brazilian Nites Productions has presented Caetano Veloso (4 times), Elba Ramalho (2 times), Geraldo Azevedo, Beth Carvalho, Olodum (3 times), Fundo de Quintal, Gal Costa, Djavan (2 times), Jorge Benjor, Maria Rita, Daniela Mercury, Forroacana (2 times), Ivan Lins, Armandinho, Paulo Moura, Moraes Moreira, Robertinho Silva, Flora Purim (3 times), Airto Moreira (3 times) Dori Caymmi, Gilberto Gil, Grupo Revelaçao, among others.
