Bread Envy front man, Blair Miskie, is well known for his pure voice, insightful song-writing, and pre and post production capabilities. Signed to KG Records under agent Kevin Gorman (Sony/BMG) at the age of 18 as a recording artist, he has become familiar with the studio environment and business ethics of the modern music industry. In both 2004 and 2005, Miskie’s live performances of his original work achieved third place in the Western Fair Youth Talent Search for all of Southwestern Ontario. He has also played alongside Basia Bulat (London based singer/songwriter). His live performances have received acclaim from Jack Richardson (Juno Award-winning Canadian record producer) and Denise Pelley (2 time winner of London’s best jazz artist award in 2002 and 2003).
Miskie co-produced the album “This or DeVry” (2003) by his band “The Better English” at Blue Skies Recording in St. Thomas. Here he acquired a taste for the studio environment early on in his career. Well rounded in his experience, Miskie now works in various project recording environments including his home studio where he self produces his latest releases. He has taken on the role of studio musician for Owen Sound band, “First Rate People,” featuring Vocal and Alto Saxophone performances on their self produced debut album “Let’s Get Nautical” (2007). His tracks have received attention from Peter Brennan (judge for Canada’s Juno Awards and record producer whose albums have reached Top 10 charts in the UK), Donna Creighton (4 time winner of London Music Award for Folk/World/Celtic) and Rob Gloor (London Symphony Orchestra Executive Director). Miskie’s work receives featured airplay on CHRW radio and has been constantly gaining popularity throughout Southwestern Ontario.
