This soulful young singer-songwriter conveys her passion for music, life and love with every lyric and breath. Originally from Cape Breton, Breagh grew up in a community culturally infused with music and dance. This upbringing instilled in her a solid love and appreciation for music. She started by lending her voice to school choirs in Sydney, began dropping jaws with her big voice at various solo performances...and soon a hobby had morphed into a career goal. In 2006, with golden ticket in hand, Breagh headed to Toronto with scads of other hopeful youngins itching to be the next Canadian Idol. While she won't credit the show, or Ben Mulroney , for helping to shape her sound...the experience allowed her to see the importance of embracing originality and stepping outside the expected. And so began her adventures in songwriting. When life gives her lemons,she breaks out the pen and paper. With charming simplicity Breagh's honest lyrics convey her experience with loss, love and happiness creating a soulful folk/pop sound that holds hints of Norah Jones and Regina Spektor. A self proclaimed romantic Breagh tries to soak up the beauty in whatever she finds around her. And although she tells it like it is, raw and truthful, she manages to take the gloomiest bleak winter day in Halifax and turn it into sweet and playful poetry. Having just finished a cross Canada tour this past summer with Cape Breton's Tom Fun Orchestra, Breagh is now in the process of completing her first EP. From this experience she hopes to open up more opportunities to express herself as a solo artist and songstress.
