..Break da House - Bournemouth's biggest & best breaks, electro & eclectic beats night..... DJ Mag April 05 – ‘Best night in the South.’ .. .... This is what we do: .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... ..BREAK DA HOUSE STATEMENT /// BREAK DA HOUSE STATEMENT /// BREAK DA HOUSE STATEMENT:.. .... 'After 5 years of putting on breaks, electro & eclectic beats parties in Bournemouth's & becoming one of the biggest parties in the south, Break da House will be calling it a day. Our last party which also doubles up as our 5th birthday party will be on Friday 17th July at Club Be, Bournemouth (formerly 2020 & K-Bar) with 1 our all time fave guest the legendary Dub Pistols alongside of long term residents D*Funk & Lee Nazari as well as BdH new boy Dr Fish & long time friend Gaz White. Also joining us, all the way from sunny Australia in Sangers & N’fa. It's actually quite fitting that we our doing our last party here is we started the night at The K-Bar all those 5 years ago... .... Over the past 5 years we've put on some amazing parties featuring the likes of Plump DJ's, Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, The Freestylers, Evil Nine & worked with other promoters such as Tribal sessions, Club Class & 2020Rocks. We've put on & been part of events at Dusk Till Dawn, K-Bar, 2020 & 2020Rocks, Ministry of Sound, Junk, Motion & many more. We’ve helped build & shape the music scene in the south, always trying to push the scene forward & bring the music which we love to an audience that, without us, would have missed out on such great music & artists. .... We decided that we would go out with a bang & make our 5th birthday party our last. It's a massive achievement for an independent night that was started by a few friends to make it to the ripe of age of 5 & to have done what we've done over the past half decade. .... The reason we’ve decided to call it a day now is that when we started the night it was 4 mates who we’re putting on a party for like-minded people with music that wasn’t being played anywhere else. From what started as a small night, through a lot of love & hard work we’ve managed to build a respected night that’s put breaks, electro & eclectic beats on the map in Bournemouth. .... Now it’s 5 years down the line & everyone involved in running the night have gone their own way. Doug is off to Australia for a year in Sep & has started his own label, ‘Up:Start Music’. Naz has formed Rogue Robots & is putting on his own electro parties, ‘Perv Circus’. Doris is in Ibiza every summer where he is resident at the legendary Space. Ben is doing his own ‘Speakeasy’ nights. It seemed to us that the reason we had for doing events in the first place had gone & rather than carry on for the wrong reason that when we reached the milestone that is our 5th birthday we would put on 1 last huge party & go out on a high. .... Break da House signing off. We salute each & everyone who has lost it on the dancefloor...' .... Break da House would like to thank the following people: .... Doug Masters, Lee Nazari, Ben Logue, Cris Doris, Dr Fish, The Crafty Rascals, Barry Ashworth, All @ Westway Records, Mark Pember (Meat Katie), Ali B, Nick Thayer, Stanton Warriors, Aston & Matt (Freestylers), Tom & Pat (Evil Nine), Lee Coombes, Gaz White, Mark Berry, Ilker, Martyn The Hat, DJ Strom, Big Richie, Carl Loben, Erol, Spinner Shindigs, Charile Lang, Russell Sanger, Dave Hornby, Tim Llyal, Luke Duybah, Tayo, Max Sedgley, Will Saul, James Pinnock, Cod, MC Manic & all of Freefall Collective, Shack (Elite Force), Plump DJ’s, Shab Ruffcut, The New Troops, El Guapo, Chris PedleyPurpose B, Jono Fernandz, Nostalgia77, SuperStyleDeluxe, Rob Life, Abel, A Skillz, Krafty Kuts, Nick & Lanx (Drumattic Twns), Soul Of Man, Jon Kennedy, Safrolla, Killa Kela & his band, A Man Called Adam, Alex Clapcott, Jay Welch, Josh Simmons, Adam Goswell, Sam Logue, Seamus, Geek Chic Soundsystem, Dan Carro, Luke Murray, Lee Martin & all @ Dusted Breaks, Steve Tingle, Angus, James Bronson, Dawn, Hannah, Bob Baker, Rich & Bodge (Crackerz & Jam), Jeff, Shake DJ’s, Mark Fanciulli, Louis & Tara @ Junk & anyone else who has worked with us & we’ve forgot from this list! .... As well as all agents, flyerers, posterers, bar staff, promotions people, drivers but most of all the party people who made our night happen… .... .... ..Our next & last party is.... BREAK DA HOUSE 5th Birthday party & 'End of an era party' - FRIDAY 17th JULY AT BE BAR & CLUB (formerly 2020 & K-Bar), BOURNEMOUTH:.. .... .. .... .... Break da House started life in July 2004 as a party started by a few like minded friends to counter the pre packaged 'Bar Culture' that is sweeping the nation. We wanted to put on a party the way we wanted to do it, play the music we love and work with the DJ's and artists we selected. Right from the very start we knew we wanted to put on a serious party without the serious side, focusing on having fun and listening to good music. At the time there were no other breaks & electro based nights operating in Bournemouth and as this was the music of our choice, Break da House was born. .... We launched in July 2004 at The K1 Club, Bournemouth and for the first year this was our home. Right from the opening party it was clear that we had something fresh and different. The feedback we were getting from both the people who attended our parties and the DJ's was amazing. We really put effort into making the party the best it can be, down to every little detail and this was being noticed. We first of all set up the night based around breaks & electro but before we launched we decided that we wanted to be more diverse than just this, so we set up the perfect backroom with the theme tune of Nu Jazz, Funk, Broken beat & Hip Hop. The funky alternative from the hectic main room where we could incorporate live music as well. .... After we had been running 7 months we knew we were on to something special and in Feb 2005 we invited our first major guest DJ to join us, which was breakbeat/tech-funk legend Meat Katie. This was taking the step up that we thought we were ready for & taking the night to the next level. The night was a massive success and is still talked about to this day! .... In Feb ’06 we moved to Dusk Till Dawn in Bournemouth which is a purpose built venue spilt over 2 rooms. It has a state of the art Funktion One sound system which really suited the music we play, with a dark basement with a massive sound system housing the Breaks and Electro and a light Lounge which is perfect for the backroom shenanigans. .... Since day one we have strived to keep the night evolving, putting on artists & DJ's that haven't played in Bournemouth before and/or who are pioneers in their music genre. We have been lucky enough to work with the like of The Dub Pistols Sound system, Meat Katie, Ali B, Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Freefall Collective, El Guapo, The Freestylers, Aldo Vanucci, Barry Ashworth, Elite Force, Bent, Evil Nine, A Man Called Adam, Tayo, SuperstyleDeluxe, Rob Life, Max Sedgley, Jon Kennedy, Will Saul, The Drum Monkeys, Dogtown Clash, Chris Pedley, Nostaliga77, Plump DJ’s, Jono Fernandez, Lee Coombs, Finger Lickin records with Soul of Man & The Drumattic Twins, The Crafty Rascals & the list goes on. .... In July 2006 we held our 2nd birthday at Dusk Till Dawn, which was a truly epic night, which featured BDH fave's Meat Katie & The Dub Pistols. This was a milestone event for us as we didn't properly get to celebrate our 1st birthday. .... In Jan 2007 we hosted our first London based event with our friends at Club Class & Breakpoint, which saw us taking over Ministry of Sound with Break da House hosting the Baby Box. Again this was a massive success with a bus full of party people being shipped us from our sunny seaside town to rock the capital. .... In May 07 the now de-funkt K Bar re opened it’s door as 2020 after a £1.5 refurbishment. We were lucky enough to be asked to host the opening night of the venue which we had formerly started life in. For this party we drafted in one of the biggest names in the worldwide breaks scene, The Stanton Warriors and we well and truly had a huge party with the event selling out a week before. .... Heading into July 07 and we turned 3 years old, hosting 2 massive parties. The first we joined forces with Tribal sessions to put on a massive party at 2020 featuring the Plump DJ’s, Linus Loves & Mistress De Funk. Then we also held our own event at Dusk Till Dawn featuring 2 personal fave's of ours Rob Life from Breakin Bread & SuperStyleDeluxe. .... In Aug 07 we moved on from Dusk Till Dawn, with our last event there featuring our friends & faves The Dub Pistols & Jon Kennedy. We felt it was time for us to move on and have a new challenge. We always want to stay one step ahead of the game and we felt a change was in order to keep the night fresh and exciting. We moved back to where it all started for us and joined up with 2020 in Bournemouth. They had a fresh& exciting new venue & a vision of taking things to the next level in Bournemouth. We joined them for their first series of the legendary 2020Rocks, which saw world class heavy weight line up spanning breaks, electro, house and the more eclectic. We played host to the biggest names you can think of such as Basement Jaxx, David Guetta, Seb Ledger, Killa Kela, Uffie & DJ Feadz, Nic Fancuilli, Steve Lawler, James Talk, Layo & Bushwacka!, Switch & Sinden, HiJack, Annie Mac & many more, as well as breaks artists such as Stanton Warriors, Plump DJ's, The Freestylers, Nick Thayer & more. .... After teaming up with 2020 & 2020Rocks for nearly a year we decided that we wanted to stand on our own 2 feet again & host our own parties. So we returned to Dusk Till Dawn in April 2008 with our massive 'DTD Re-union party'. We carried on putting on events at Dusk Till Dawn, untill June 2009 & that leads us up to the final party &our 5th birthday!' .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .... ..You should create your own ..MySpace Layouts.. like me by using ..nUCLEArcENTURy...COM's ..MySpace Profile Editor..!.. .... -
