Fueled by an intrinsic desire to rock, Breaker is the musical creation of lead singer, Liz Granite. Combining contrasting worlds of bombast and bliss, Breaker's music is as seductive as it is damn near fatal. The five-piece proudly serves up a juicy slab of female-fronted guitar-driven rock with a sweet dose of off-kilter mood and a little heartfelt angst (for good measure). In-your-face vocals paired with provocative lyrics cap off the band's inimitable sound.
Breaker independently released their debut album, “The More I Want, The More I Get”, on June 12th. Ten powerful songs demonstrate the depth and diversity of Breaker’s talent while maintaining a straightforward and unapologetic attitude throughout. CBS's Rockstar: Supernova winner, Lukas Rossi, offers his distinct vocals to the rock duet, “Tenfold True”, and Candiria drummer, Ken Schalk, keeps the beat boisterous and untamed throughout this rip-roaring record.
Oddly enough, Breaker formed in December 2008 following the completion of their debut album, “The More I Want, The More I Get”, which Granite wrote and recorded with the support of producer, Dean Dichoso. The chemistry between the musicians who had come together to represent the music on stage was undeniable. Bassist, Will Walz, was an assistant engineer on “The More I Want, The More I Get”, and guitarist, Curtis Priest, had been a long-time friend of Granite’s. Priest had previously played with drummer, G Herrera, in another band. Guitarist, Rosh Roslin, answered a craigslist ad, and as it turned out he was connected to the group as well, by way of the album’s producer. The connection between the five members of Breaker is a big part of what makes their live show so intensely engaging.
Breaker’s live shows have been winning over fans throughout southern California, and with their debut album now available, this can only the beginning of what is about to be a very successful rock n’ roll venture.
