break.fasters' penchant for the rock and roll does not lend itself to willy-nilly black box thrusting. rather, the band's sound represents a tension between the perceptive pop melodies of the bbc and something altogether dirtier- like a rat, i suppose. the result is a fervent and, at times, unsettling avowal of honest musical expression which, during- and, indeed after- cogitation, can result only in conciliation and, ultimately, joy.
