Breanna Paletta says that music equals life. It is all consuming.
She likes to tell stories. She likes to paint pictures with words.
She lives in Portland, OR and doesn't mind the rain...most of the time.
The daughter of a blues musician and a stay at home mom with good taste (a la The Beatles, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac) Breanna's formative years were a flurry of melodies and the smells of old vinyl. Throw in an almost painfully shy childhood, a love for words and their meanings, a longing for truth and beauty, a dash of wonder and a generous helping of heart-break and you've got one hell of recipe for authentic, emotive songs.
Through a series of coincidences or fated events Breanna became the voice of Portland band Rye Hollow and shared the stage with Tony Furtado, the Cowboy Junkies and Tori Amos.
Now with her own band of close friends and quirky instrumentation she's on a crusade of sorts: To say something worth saying; to make you feel.
She let’s you see who she is and gives you a glimpse inside yourself.
"With poignant, piercing honesty and bittersweet reflection, Paletta’s lyrics speak to the joys and pain of every day life that can’t be captured in every day expression. Abundant and pressing at the seams with vivid metaphor and insightful wisdom."
-Tamara Turner, Editor CD Baby
"Breanna's melodies are engaging and pure and her songs cut right to the core. She's a beautiful singer-songwriter"
BREANNA!!!!!! First of all Love from me to you. Hey I'll call you this weekend to ask about next weekend. I hope you and Jdogg are doing fucking fabulous.
It was fun "inkin" with ya the other day! Thank you so much for all the great energy in the shop and good times!!! Hope to see back again soon. Mark @ EPIC INK TATTOO
I mentioned two artists you guys reminded me of when I saw you play... Devon Sproule and Paul Curreri. Just thought I'd share the musical wealth. They are terrific - and if you like duets (especially in an often "old country" type style), you should check out the albums called "Valentine Duets" on Paul's website.
They are up for free download (all of them) - There is a lot to choose from so I suggest Little Glass of Wine, Sponji Reggae, and Weeping Willow if you have a hard time deciding what to listen to first.
Sorry if this is an annoying post to you - I just heard the beauty of the kind of duets you do and it reminded me of them. Paul and Devon are incredibly talented, but seem always bound to the background.
Anyways, pass this on to Justin if you think he'd be interested! I feel weird double posting you both! haha
Have a great night and should be seeing you soon! Jon
Greetings Breanna, A pleasure to meet you… Beautiful...Sounds Great! Thank you for including me among your friends! If you have time, please listen to my tunes. I would truly like to hear what you think. All the best to you, ♫~Bobby Snard~♫
