Deitch art and artists,Fischerspooner,Old New Yorker artoons, New World Disorder (sic),the Owl of Minerva flies at Twilight (Hegel), the arcane pursuits of those Bavarian culture-vultures (see The Owl of Bohemia and take it from there) to those secret redwood forests in California (don't go down to the woods tonight kiddies). The psychopathology of European Aristocratic Heraldry and its ubiquity in corporate branding today-see the Peugeot logo for example. Need I go on about "the return of the Middle Ages" as Umberto Eco warned of in his collection of essays on America; Travels in Hyper-reality, half a lifetime ago?

Television
ABC 2 and SBS TV Australia-select shows but mostly not. That April Fools Day broadcast on SBS in 2005 of Christianne Kubrick's hoax documentary "The Dark Side of the Moon", aided and abetted by Donald Rumsfeld,Henry Kissinger and the CIA's collusion with a bewildering array of "utterly possible" real life Washington DC Beltway insiders in the Republican Executive (then and now) as talking heads and actors being themselves. It even has super 8 home movie footage of a very young Rumsfeld walking with Nixon in the White House Rose Garden obviously discussing a Vietnam exit strategy with his then boss in '71-'72.As Warhol once so sagely put it to CBS in a black and white '60's news reel , " I'm faking it for television". Withering and meticulous hoax documentary about how Stanley Kubrick secretly faked the Moon landing footage in MGM Studios in London for the Nixon administration. It had all the expensive stock footage that only big bucks and the State deptartment could furnish. But to watch Rumsfeld, Kissinger, Neo-Con monstrosity Lawrence Eagleburger and retired CIA director Richard Helms in paneled booklined offices in Washington DC reminiscing about a bogus story had a certain devastating irony and a degree of ersatz truth to it. The entire documentary is worthy of the genius of Kubrick had he lived and the wit of the Situationists, Peter Sellers and Malcolm McLaren.A very subltle piece of brinksmanship on Christianne Kubrick's and Jan Harlan's part, verging on the hyper-real.It certainly transcends the mere description of entertainment or even satire. It was Dr.Strangelove meets Austen Powers.Mindblowing and try and see it if possible..Its on Google Video as a freebie download and streaming movie now.

I suggest you Google "Deitch" a brilliant artist collective site and art gallery out of New York, really new and big fun and the http://www.fischerspooner.com site and into the Odyssey Flash animations there which are really quite beautiful and startlingly novel in conception, realization and content.

On the eve of their first national tour in over thirty years, Daddy Cool guitarist Ross Hannaford has been robbed of his most valuable possessions, his musical instruments.
In what appears to be a random joy ride robbery, Ross' 1989 white Toyota Hi Ace van QRN 479 was stolen from the Melbourne suburb of Yarraville in the early hours of Sunday morning with all Ross' gear concealed under a tarp in the back.
Stolen along with the van were:
- Chandler 555 Guitar - customised and hand painted in Red Yellow and Green sunray design.
- Ampeg Jet II amplifier
- Rare 5 watt Diason amplifier
- Home made amplifier in Diason Cabinet with Peavey 158 Blazer head and Marantz 12" speaker
- Green and yellow Indian "hippy" bag with Boss Phrase Sampler, MXR phase 90 and Tremit Tremolo pedal.
All of these instruments are unique and irreplaceable, so musicians around Australia, keep an eye out for them. If you see or hear anything please contact the Police or Mark Sydow Management @ www.marksydow.com
