Maurice is back and we are working on the new album. We..ve got A LOT of music now, just gotta arrange the stuff. BREED
Norwegian metal band Breed first saw the light of day in 2004. Guitarist and riff-maker Damage Karlsen introduced his work to the other members and they quickly named their sound ‘groove metal’. A solid ‘in your face’ attitude onstage quickly caused word of this band to spread and they were soon known as a kick-ass live band.
In order to get noticed by record labels the band moved to Oslo and by the summer of 2006 they were signed to Face Front Recrods. Their debut album, simply called ‘Breed’, was released in March 2007. The album received great reviews from media in Norway and across Europe and even the biggest newspaper in Norway (VG) noticed the band and gave the album 5/6 in their review.
Despite the excellent reviews and the speed the band were moving forward their drummer Espen Pedersen decided to leave. This caused some difficulties for the band as they had several gigs booked but Erlend Gjerde, the hard hitting and groovy drummer from Stonegard, stepped in and helped the band fulfil their commitments.
Finding a permanent replacement for Espen proved to be a little difficult and for a while Erik Engebretsen stepped behind the kit but things didn’t work out and they too parted ways. Luckily for the band Tommy S Kaare was available and was warmly welcomed to the band.
In August 2009, BREED announced that singer Maurice Adams had returned to the band. He is currently laying down vocal tracks to the songs the band has already recorded and the new album is WELL under way. BREED IS BACK! SPREAD THE WORD!
