| General | My son says this is the place where I tell what I like to do. He thinks I'm clueless.
I love, and I'm not just saying this, to spend time with my family. Okay, truth, there are times we all drive each other crazy, but for the most part, we have a lot of fun together. We like to hike, canoe, and travel.
I love the ocean. A condo or house on the beach is my ideal vacation. | | Music | George Strait, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns ...the list goes on, and on..
I'm not a person who really has favorites. I love a lot of music, all genres. | | Movies | Raising Helen, Mr and Mrs Smith | | Television | House, Burn Notice, The Closer, Private Practice. And of course, the suite life of zach and cody (i have kids). | | Books | So many I can't begin to list them all. I love historicals, romance, women's fiction. | | Heroes | my husband. He's been hanging with me for 22 years and he's always believed in my abilities. He encouraged me to pursue my dream. Every woman should have a hero like him. |

About me:
me. this is the part I don't love. How do i explain myself to anyone?
I'm a wife, a mom, a pastor's wife. I love working with children, and in women's ministry.
I've wanted to write since, well, as far back as I can remember. I grew up on a farm, the youngest of three kids, and I spent a lot of time alone. I wandered the fields, took in stray animals, and spent a lot of time with my horse. That gave me time to weave wild tales to entertain myself. An older friend recently said that I was a loner as a child. I don't think that I was a loner. But I didn't mind being alone. I'm still that person. I love to socialize, but being alone isn't such a bad thing. Alone is where I spend time with God, spend time dreaming, or spend time creating lives for imaginary characters.
After a long journey, learning to craft a story and learning about the publishing world, I am finally with my dream publisher--Steeple Hill Love Inspired. My stories are a mixture of romance, faith, and drama.
But the life of a writer isn't glamorous. Few people know that I'm an author. Those who do generally say something like, "That's cool, can you move your cart out of the book section and stop tossing Steeple Hill books in my cart."
Or, "Lady, don't sign that Nora Roberts book, you're not Nora Roberts."
I always thought some magical transformation would take place when I got published. I would suddenly have plenty of money. I'd have a maid. I don't want just any maid, I want an ALICE, like the Brady's had. I want her to cook, clean, and solve problems for my family. I also thought I'd suddenly have a sense of style and good hair.
Although my life is still pretty much the same, I wouldn't trade writing for anything. And I think I'll keep my family, too.

Who I'd like to meet:
Do I really get to pick?? There are so many people I'd love to meet someday. If I really got to pick, I'd love to sit down and talk to Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson, and Kellie Pickler. I believe they're strong women. And they're survivors.
I'd love to meet Dolly Parton. I think she's beautiful, kind and has done so much with her life. She's an artist, a writer, a businesswoman, a wife. We have to love a woman who has done so much, has so much, and who realizes the need for books in the lives of children.
