I'm splitting my time right now between writing short stories (basically horror) and working on a novel. I've been published on gothic.net and Chiaroscaro (www.chizine.com).

About me: Howdy folks, I'm Brendan. I've had my short stories appear on Chiaroscaro, the new edition of the "Dead Things" anthology (www.twilighttales.com), Pseudopod, Ruthless Peoples, and Edge of Propinquity. I also read at Twilight Tales events and elsewhere around the city. In my civilian life I'm a teacher at a south side charter school in lovely Chicago.
I'm mostly using this page to get the word out when I get published. Most non-robot friend requests will be accepted, unless you're currently a student at the school where I work, in which case I'll have to ask you to wait until you've graduated. This page is PG-rated. Things this page links to may not be.

Who I'd like to meet: New readers, anybody interesting.
Hello darling! I miss you! How is Chi-town? How's grad school? Are you soon to get your degree? That will be exciting! I absolutely LOVE Nashville, its fabulous, there is so much to do there, the music is wonderful and I have met so many nice people. I stayed at the Music City Hostel for three weeks and met all kinds of delightful people from all over the world-- the UK, Australia, France, Canada, Japan and Chicago (met a charming bloke from Oak Park). As for music, there is a whole lot more than just country music(contrary to popular belief) and everytime I have gone out to here it, bluegrass or funky experimental or whatever, I've had a blast.
I got a job! It's great because it is actually within the field of psychology-- I'll be working as a 'cooperative living counselor' a residential counselor with at-risk adolescent boys (behavioral problems mostly)at a center called Monroe Harding. Also, I found a beautiful place to live, that is only 2 miles from where I work, still in the beautiful Green Hills area. It's a gorgeous house, I have a furnished room, laundry, rec room, lovely decorated interior, and best of all, my roommate seems to be really sweet, and the owner of the house is also very nice. Rent is within my affordable price range, but ofcourse with a job in the social services, I'll be on a budget! I do miss Chicago (Neo! Friends! Art Institute!) but I do think Nashville is certainly the place for me for now. I love it.
I have also been going every friday night to have Shabbat dinner with the Vanderbilt Chabad, it has been so nice to be around other Jewish folks my age, and share in the laughter, song, food and joy. The Rabbi is very nice, ever joyful with song and story, and his wife is sweet as pie, I have helped her around the house and with babysitting as I am honored to do that mitzvah to help her in thanks for her hospitality. Although I as a reform Jew, may not share all of their more conservative beliefs and
pretty hectic. i have hogan for 2 classes (one of which is diagnosis) and freville. you miss some highly classic moments with one of your former classmates . how's student teaching?
You're a Tang Soo Do black belt and a philosophy major. YOU do the math. Besides, that was the one and only time I ever managed to roll up a Samurai in that game. I spent seventeen bonus points on your ungrateful hide.
oh, i am taking 653 663 and some other class. i never remember, but i know i its monday tuesday and wednesday night @ dominican. so that means youll sit next to me in class right!?!
Well, first you have to save it in your pictures and upload it to your pictures on myspace then you go to edit photos and then you click on the album its in then there should be "set as default" option... Somewhere under edit photos as opposed to view pics. silly myspace.
and dude. have you read the Wormwood series by Ben Templesmith? It's really cool. lot's of tentacles and dark humor and undead things and some blips of yakuza and talking to Moloach like a homeboy and hot chicks with guns and robots and preventing the apocalypse and such. I read the first one, which didnt cover much ground as it was mostly art, but i hear they pick up after that. the art is pretty neat. Also "Chronicles of Wormwood" by Garth Ennis is a fun read, smart, and politically clever. You are a fan of graphic novels... any series you love and recommend? I loved transmetropolitan although I have not read the whole series. but something dark and edgy and funny... love that morbid humor.
Darling! I miss you terribly! I hope things are going well for you in chi-town, I know waters have been rough. Eureka is interesting but today was 103 degrees and mostly humidity so it is quite difficult to get out anywhere. but I am going to try again tonight around midnight as I did last night and see what becomes of it.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THE BIKE. IT WILL HELP ME OUT SOOOO MUCH WITH GETTING THINGS DONE, ESPECIALLY GROCERIES! you are a good friend. you know that? You know that you are one of my best friends ever? You are. And its funny cause my 3 really close friends, you, Hunter and Brian are all Beloit Alums! Yeah! Thanks. Things will get better for me. Once he is gone, all I have to do is send him his half of the bills so he can pay them. It already is much nicer in the apartment with all his shit stuffed in the spare room. the energy is much softer. hugs hugs and hugs. thank you for all of your help this morning! you rock. I really appreciate it.
Hey dude, are you free next Friday night? It's my birthday party, and we're classin' it up this year! Plus, an old friend from grade school might be coming, so you'll have to steal his thunder in the competition of who's known me longer.
so i posted flyers around the C.O.D student center today, and i posted a facebook note and a myspace blog about my apartment for rent. I have to re-post the craig's list add. So hopefully I will be getting some calls in soon. But seriously, I think you guys have found an excellent apartment mate-- ME! I look forward to your party saturday!!!!
hey, i had a crazy dream last night that you fell from aloft and got yourself hung up on what we sailors call the anchor burton. you were caught by the neck and strangling, but i managed to get you down safely. then you gave me a big hug.
I'll give you a house of pain where the sun don't shine. Last night I dreamed I had a really big gun that blew things up. I killed cowboys and gangsters. You don't wanna MESS with my house.
Um? To what do you refer? I hope it's fictional. If not, try emailing or calling me, 'cause I don't know how the heck to respond to that particular ambiguity.
