Influences
I have had many influences that have helped me reach my decision to pursue music. Too many to list. Here are my main influences, both personal inspirations and aritsts that have helped me develop the way I hear music.
Cuong Vu, Jim Sisko, Shawn McGinn, Terry Blanchard, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Count Basie, John Coltrane, Wynton Marsalis, Jamie Cullum, Dave Matthews, Stevie Wonder, Wayne Shorter, Carl Saunders, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Brad Mehldau, Dave Douglas, Badly Drawn Boy, Beirut, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Joshua Redman, Tomasz Stanko, Carl Allen...
There are few things in this world that have the power to generate joy, hope, change, and revolution. Music has all of these qualities in addition to its pure beauty. Another aspect about music that is unlike anything else is the ability it has to bridge gaps. The gaps of time, generational gaps, ethnic gaps, social differences...it is really incredible. To me, music aligns exactly with art and nature, representing everything beautiful in this world. Music is best when shared between people, because it is a language in itself and can be understood by anyone on this earth. With that said I hope you will enjoy the music that I am trying to share, and I appreciate any feedback you may have.
