Brent McCorkle's Interests
|
| General | hanging out with my beautiful wife and five awesome kids, ages 2 to 10, watching movies, reading, writing, composing, shooting, editing, listening to film soundtracks, scuba diving, swimming, any other sport that involves water, cosmology, philosophy/religion, sushi, and tex-mex. | | Music | Mostly Film Scores/Soundtracks - Check out Thomas Newman - Road to Perdition, Cinderella Man, A Series of Fortunate Events, Shawshank Redemption, and Finding Nemo - John Williams, Alan Sylvestri, Michael Kamen, Howard Shore, Garden State Soundtrack, U2, Coldplay, Imogen Heap | | Movies | A few of my all-time favorites: Brazil, Life is Beautiful, Citizen Kane, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Iron Giant, The Green Mile, Requiem for a Dream, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Road to Perdition, Dark City, American Beauty, Carnival of Souls, Donnie Darko, It's a Wonderful Life, Time Bandits, Aliens, Cool Hand Luke, Finding Nemo, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Ed Wood, The Matrix, Garden State, ET, Akira, Big Fish, Ran, Prince of Egypt, Amores Perros, The Triplets of Belleville, The Devil's Backbone, Crash, Nosferatu, 12 Monkeys, Spirited Away, The Shawshank Redemption, The Empire Strikes Back, and Shawn of the Dead. | | Television | Original Twilight Zone Series, Miami Vice, X-Files, LOST (Yes, I'm an addict. Yes, I'm jazzed that they're only doing 6 seasons. Yes, I think it's one of the best TV shows ever created), Classic Warner Bros. Cartoons, and StarBlazers. If you notice, the only thing current on my list is LOST. Honestly, I don't watch TV at all. My wife and I watched the entire first season of LOST on DVD...then we did season 2 and 3 with Itunes. | | Books | Some recent reads that have rocked me: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, His Dark Materials (All three books, especially The Subtle Knife), The Divine Comedy, The Diary of Anne Frank. Just recently re-read some childhood favorites: A Wrinkle in Time, Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian), A Christmas Carol. | | Heroes | people: who are out there trying to make a positive difference in the world, who aren't afraid to be a role model, who help out kids that haven't had a fair shot at life (adopting, fostering, mentoring), who live not just for themselves but look out for others as well, who guard the words that come out of their mouth, who bring positive energy, who aren't satisfied unless they're progressing, who are on a spiritual journey of some kind. |

About me:
Thanks for stopping by. For those of you who don't know me, here are a few things that I'd love to share with you...I am happily married to a wonderful woman. We've been married for almost 13 years. We have five beautiful children who make us laugh every day. We are a very 'down-to-earth' family...drive used cars, shop at Walmart, etc. And we honestly love our lives together. My life is quite easily summed up. It revolves around only 2 things: family and film. Of course, those 2 things happen to be all-consuming and as you can probably imagine...there is never a dull moment in my life. My greatest goals in life are being a great husband, a great dad, and a great director who makes a positive impact in this world with some highly entertaining movies. I really believe that I'll be sending some really cool films your way in the very near future. Thanks for reading. I would love to hear from you as well. Please drop me a line anytime. Thanks for stopping by and take care...
