About me:
Born in Winnipeg, actor Brent Neale has been involved in several Guy
Maddin projects, most notably as Johann in Careful and as Renfield in
Dracula: Pages from a Virgin’s Diary. Also Neale starred in Ross
Munro’s cult comedy Brewster McGee and as an unscrupulous police
officer in Norma Bailey’s Cowboys and Indians: The Killing of J. J.
Harper. East of Euclid is his second collaboration
with Jeff Solylo.
Brent Neale's Latest film is Anna Paquin's film Blue State which will be released in 2007.

My name is Brent Neale and I've been acting for the past 20 years. I started acting out of The Black Hole Theater Company at the University Of Manitoba. My first film role was in Guy Maddin's Tales From Gimli Hospital. It was during this time when I developed my love of Independent Film. Guy proved that you can make great, thought provoking films for very little money.
I've been very lucky over the years to have met and work with some very talented Canadian Directors. Guy Maddin, Jeff Solylo, Deco Dawson, Ross Munro, and Norma Bailey. I have done some "mainstream films," but my heart will always be independent.

I was born there. In the old mausoleum type one. I remember during filming, thinking that Guy's imagination is not far off from the truth of place. Ohhh the ghost and scary stories my old uncles, from there, would tell me, and still do to this day It was/is all very fascinating to grow up in that culture.
They are showing all of my movies this weekend at the Cinematheque. Including Lode in the "Early Works" programme on Friday, and a 10min clip - work in progress from Benoit on the Saturday!
It was great to see you again, you should come by the new place sometime and we should have a beer, for sure! I hope all is well. I am working on the movie, but can show you come clips anytime. I will hopefully retransfer soon, which will make it extra, special delicious! I am shooting a little clip of a music video with Brock next week, I haven't seen him in four years, but I promised Brenda I would put him in something, if only small at this point!
