With a mentor like his uncle, a well respected disco-house dj in the nineties, and an elementary school like Doornroosje, arguably Holland's best underground techno club, Brent Roozendaal was bound to get involved in quality dance music one way or the other. Both influences are still reflected in his dj-sets: warm and housey on some nights, dark en techy on others - yet always unmistakably Brent's.
In 2000, Brent bought his first turntables and started to organise his first parties. Since then he's frequented most of the Dutch venues and festivals (Lowlands, Awakenings, Free Your Mind, etc.), and is even taking his music across the border. He co-organizes three cutting edge house- and techno events: Drift at Nijmegens renowned Doornroosje venue; Mood Elevator at various locations; and Crackhouse at Amsterdam's Melkweg. As a resident of the three, Brent has a strong fanbase in all corners of the Netherlands.
Music for Brent is all about emotions. House, after all, is a feeling. The two people that best understand this concept according to him, are Pitto (Mood Elevator) and Aron Friedman (Crackhouse). Brent and Aron often play together under their Mesjokke monniker, effortlessly anticipating on eachother's musical direction in dazzling dj-sets. Together with Pitto, Brent released his first killer techno-track as Mood Engineering (Trust EP on Sound Architecture).
With international bookings taking Brent to places like Ghent (Decadance), Cologne (Gruezi Club), Berlin (Zementgarten) and Barcelona (Moog), the future is looking ever so bright. And now that he's is putting all his heart soul into the studio, it's only a matter of time before other amazing tunes start popping out.
