“Brent Tyler…a Tall man with a Grande talent and a Venti heart!”
Jonathan Love - California 103FM
Prolific playing with a full band, or simply a man and his guitar, Brent Tyler has been performing for over a decade in a wide variety of live atmospheres showcasing his big and beautiful voice and aggressive acoustic sound. Through a variety of covers and originals, power and subtlety, hooks and simplicity, Brent has an ability to capture the attention of his audience, drawing them in with the warmth of his voice and the intensity of his live performance.
Alaina Fraser from the Double Mo Café states, "Luckily this extra tall man has room to house the massive lungs he must have. The power of Brent's voice is an awesome thing.”
In December 2002, Tyler released his first original recording titled Better Way. A mix of singer/songwriter modern folk-pop with a wide variety of musical influences, Better Way has sold over 1500 copies to date, and continues to help Brent build a growing and loyal following throughout Western Canada.
MusicEmissions.com wrote, “Better Way is a great introduction to a very talented songwriter but in order to fully appreciate Brent Tyler you have to see him in a live setting. This is where he really shines.” Matt Chomistek from the University of Calgary Gauntlet said, “...Tyler’s technical proficiency on the guitar shines through on the album giving just a taste of what he could do in a live setting. With Better Way, Tyler writes honestly, sings powerfully, and plays skillfully.”
Brent Tyler has committed himself to performing and recording music that comes from the heart. Tyler has returned to the studio with plans to release his second full-length original recording in the Spring of 2009. Building upon his live performing experience and strong songwriting skills, Tyler’s new release will reflect upon his latest experiences as a western Canadian artist, from Calgary to Vancouver, and then back again.
