About Brer Mouse

Formed in Adelaide, now based in Melbourne these five boys bring emotional honesty and a hopeful unpretentiousness to their art rock, creating strong, beautiful arrangements around fragile, introspective songs.

Beginning in Adelaide in 2002 with the release of the darkly diffracted mini-album Beatlemania a home-produced experiment by songwriters and siblings Jon and Alex and the metamorphosis of a previous band into something new, Brer Mouse have developed and refined a brilliant, resilient sonic aesthetic and an impressive on-stage presence.

It's been awhile - sorry there hasn't been in any Australian shows for many months but we've been busy in Europe with a bunch of touring and we're now recording our new album in Berlin (scheduled for release in March). But to make up for it, here's a big (and silly) Merry Christmas from us (and from some hippos too) : Some bold new artistic direction? Nah, Just us being silly!!! We did this track for our label's "Black Snow - the completely different Xmas compilation". (and of course, visit our youtube channel for a high quality version) Wishing you a very silly Silly Season and we'll see you back in Australia sometime in 2010! N&N

I ♥ RAYGUNS	Jul 16 2007 5:07 PM Before I forget, your show at Bar Open was musically brilliant (you guys sounded in tops!) but vocally it was pretty painful - not in terms of what you were singing, but there was hardly any of it in the mix! It was a real strain to hear the singing and I found myself wanting to go and kill the sound guy so I could pin that fader. To summarise: Good work, band sounds great, but next time more volume and confidence in the vocals please :)
