Leslie - Three Angels & A Saint Management's Interests
General
Music. Poetry. Artistic expression. Managing musicians and artists who want their art to inspire beauty with depth on more than surface levels. Writing songs. Singing. Playing music. Trying to change the world by always working on being a better person myself. Talking to people who don't share my beliefs or opinions and finding common ground and creating solidarity and breaking down divisive thinking. Using my many blessings to help others. Feeding my friends, family and strangers silence-inspiring, organic, locally grown food (especially if Steve Sprinkle's grown it.) Reading out loud to people. Sharing discoveries with my community/friends/anyone who's interested. Turning disputes into an example of how the warring people of the world can come together, address each other respectfully and compassionately, and have everyone be able to survive with their dignity intact, or at least be able to agree to disagree & live in harmony anyway. Putting elipses after too many things . . .
Music
Emy Reynolds, Jonathan McEuen, Sean Hayes, Tom Waits, Paul Simon, Kenny Edwards, Amos Lee, Jackson Browne, Bjarv, Rikki Lee Jones, Suzanne Paris, Perla Batalla, Mojo Monkees, Rhett Miller, Jessie Baylin, Francis Cabrel, Sansevarino, Julie Christensen, Fats Waller, U2, Shawn Colvin, Harry Nilsson, John O'Connor, Joni Mitchell, Left of Memphis, Carla Bruni, Jessie Siebenberg, Hank Williams, Astrud Gilberto, the guitar player on the show "30-something", Robben Ford, Brett Dennen, Bob Dylan, so many more . . . everything new and fresh that rings true
Movies
Once, That Thing You Do, Motorcycle Diaries, Crash, The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, Garden State, To Kill A Mockingbird, Flashdance (well, it did change my wardrobe legging accessories for at least 6 months), Huckabees, Big Fish, Big Lebowski, Central Station, Fargo, Amelie, more to come . . .
Television
I don’t usually make time for tv, but I've been known to watch Law & Order (affectionately dubbed Lard & Ardor) if someone else is watching it . . .
Books
Ken Wilber's "Grace & Grit", The Botany of Desire, A Brief History of Time, Claud Mann's "Dinner & A Movie" cookbook, Bob Dylan's "Chronicles", Jitterbug Perfume, Skinny Bitch, Richard Brautigan books, Little Prince (using French/English Dictionaries), Being Peace, To Kill A Mockingbird, Your Money or Your Life, A Prayer for Owen Meaney, I'll have to come back to this one . . . too many
Heroes
Dr. Martin Luther King, Ghandi (except for the domestic violence rumors), Anatol Lieven, Maya Angelou, Lassie, Stephen Hawkings, Huston Smith, Pema, my husband Jim, my daughter Summer Leigh and my partner in crime . . . MVL. I used to think certain musicians were heroes, but I discovered they are simply messengers . . .
I do think 'hero' is overused, mistakenly applied, misunderstood, but if you're still reading and interested in what I think, the word 'hero' invokes volumes of gratitude for purely selfless acts that have positive, lasting, life-altering effects on others.
Leslie - Three Angels & A Saint Management's Details
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”
This says it for me and music has done it for me for as long as I can remember - whether writing it or listening to it. It's capable of moving us to action, compassion, tears, and transition. It can inspire us to aspire to be better human beings (we can use more of this.) It's why I enjoy helping musicians who move me. Even those with big lessons to learn inspire us and teach us things we need to know.
I believe gratitude could change the world. My pet peeve is people who feel entitled to kindness and don't bother to remember to be grateful or say thank you - or worse, take and don't give anything back. Remembering to be grateful, and the balance created thru giving back feeds me. Music is a constant source of joy; playing, listening, sharing or being inspired, it's what speaks to me and for me.
I'm not one to be concerned about money - when I have more than I need, I like to spread it around & help others - I believe you have to spend it and share it to receive it or generate more. When I've had less, I appreciated what I had, and I still wanted to use what I had to help others.
Enjoy the journey!
Who I'd like to meet: More artists who remember & honor all the people who helped them when they were starting out. I like meeting people who know our actions have an impact on everything around us. I'd like to meet more people who use their day to day lives to make small steps toward righting the wrongs, so I can learn from them. I'd like to meet more people who know positive actions, thoughts, communication & deeds are valuable tools, who turn challenges into opportunities, tragedy into calls for action & revelation, and more people who want to help turn this mess around.

Thanks for adding me. ¶ Our many problems have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, and murderers — particularly those in public office — believe people are motivated only by greed and fear. They want us to share that belief, because they use it to justify themselves and to manipulate us. But you and I have found something better inside ourselves and our friends. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them — we're all one flesh and blood. Spread the word. The outcome to the ideological struggle is not yet determined, so no one can afford to be a spectator. ¶ The Iraq war, like most wars, was based on lies. And now the occupation is making new enemies faster than it can kill them; that's helpful only to arms dealers. The economy is all wrong too: the rich get richer and fewer, everyone else gets screwed, and the ecosystem gets trashed. These problems are not new, but lately they've become so blatant that we've begun to understand them. It's time to end the military-industrial complex and the corporatocracy. We the people must control government, and government must control business, not the other way around. A good start would be transparency in government, public financing of election campaigns, trustbusting the media, and ending corporate personhood. ¶ Question authority. Carry on the struggle. Hold onto hope. Keep singing. Hand in hand, we can heal the world. — Love, Eric
