  • General

music ~ poetry ~ exceptional artistic expression ~ working with musicians & artists to use their art to inspire without limitation ~ writing songs ~ singing ~ playing music ~ continually evolving to be a better person ~ make a difference in the world ~ communication with people who don't share my beliefs or opinions & walking away with a better understanding & acceptance of our differences ~ encouraging inclusive thinking ~ helping others not so fortunate ~ feeding friends, family and strangers ~ organic, locally grown food ~ reading out loud to people or animals or plants :) ~ sharing new music, art & poetry with anyone who cares to listen ~ turning disputes into examples of how conflicted people can communicate, compromise & come together ~ opening up to agreeing to disagree & live in harmony anyway ~ putting elipses after too many things . . .
  • Music

Sean Hayes, Trevor Wheetman, Francis Cabrel, Jonathan McEuen, Tom Waits, Emy Reynolds, Paul Simon, Kenny Edwards, Van Dyke Parks, Amos Lee, Jackson Browne, Bjarv, Rikki Lee Jones, Suzanne Paris, Perla Batalla, Mojo Monkees, Rhett Miller, Jessie Baylin, Sansevarino, Julie Christensen, Fats Waller, U2, Shawn Colvin, Harry Nilsson, John O'Connor, Joni Mitchell, Left of Memphis, Carla Bruni, Jessie Siebenberg, Hank Williams, Astrud Gilberto, Snuffy Walden (the guitar player on the show "30-something"), Robben Ford, Brett Dennen, Bob Dylan, so many more . . . everything new and fresh that rings true
  • Movies

Mrs Palfry at the Claremont, Once, Juno, That Thing You Do, The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, Garden State, Motorcycle Diaries, Crash, To Kill A Mockingbird, Flashdance (well, it changed my wardrobe (legging) accessories for at least 6 months), Huckabees, Big Fish, Big Lebowski, Big, Central Station, Fargo, Amelie, Dogma, Paul Simon's documentary about songwriting, more to come . . .
  • Television

Normally tv is not my thing. That said, I've been known to watch Law & Order (affectionately dubbed Lard & Ardor) if someone else is watching it . . . and Sex In The City. Years ago I loved thirtysomething, mostly because of Snuffy Walden's musical background.
  • Books

Ken Wilber's "Grace & Grit", The Botany of Desire, A Brief History of Time, Claud Mann's "Dinner & A Movie" cookbook, Bob Dylan's "Chronicles", Jitterbug Perfume, Skinny Bitch, Richard Brautigan books, Malcolm X, Little Prince (using French/English Dictionaries), Being Peace, To Kill A Mockingbird, Your Money or Your Life, A Prayer for Owen Meaney, anything by David Sedaris, I'll have to come back to this one . . . too many
  • Heroes

Barack Obama, Anatol Lieven, Maya Angelou, Dr. Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Lassie, Stephen Hawkings, Huston Smith, Pema, my husband Jim, my daughter Summer Leigh and my partner in crime . . . MVL. I used to think some musicians were heroes, but artists are simply messengers . . . with their own human frailties that need to be overlooked to enjoy their gifts . . . carefully chosen words of kindness are my true heroes That being said, I think 'hero' is overused, mistakenly applied, misunderstood, but if you're still reading and interested in what I think, read on! The word 'hero' invokes images of people possesed with volumes of gratitude, who know how to say "I understand" and mean it, who are able to imbue those around them with their purely selfless acts, remarkable, positive, lasting, life-altering actions, and still be able to clean the bathroom when it's their turn . . . I might have to revisit this section . . .

About me:

..
.. This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

.. ..“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”

Beautiful music & lyrics have made my life a better place. I really started my full time management career when I discovered Brett Dennen, invited him into my home, life & studio to record his 1st album, and spent 4 years bringing him to the eyes & ears of the masses . . . Since then I've enjoyed mentoring, managing and helping artists like Emy Reynolds, Jonathan McEuen, Bjarv, Perla Batalla, Kenny Edwards, and others. I always enjoy hearing about new artists, even if I'm not the right person to help bring their music to a bigger audience. Music moves me in a profound way, on a deep level. I'm moved to action, compassion, tears & transition. Extraordinary artistic vision and artists who are grateful for their gifts - I will always make time for them. Inspired to continue evolving into a better person, I've chosen to work with musicians - they seem to need the help :) Work is my passion and I love almost everything I've discovered through it. I believe in the inherent goodness of people, and in the power of gratitude to change the world (along with a healthy dose of kindness & compassion.) I work at living my life aware of the that power. I hope I can inspire someone else who's trying to do the same. I'd like to be able to give back all that I've been blessed with.

Enjoy the journey!

..

Who I'd like to meet:

Musicians with "that thang" (besides talent, plenty of humility - they need that to make it intact - & a life long appreciation for everyone who listens to their songs & makes their journey possible.) People who inspire positive change in the world. People whose daily lives are examples of living, breathing compassion, kindness & willingness to rise above the noise - I'd like to learn from them. Anyone practicing positive action, thought, communication & deeds. Anyone turning challenges into opportunities & tragedies into calls for action & revelation (someone like Obama maybe?) People who know we can turn this mess around & are willing to push up their sleeves & work for it. People who'll help me keep believing this is all available & possible.

Thanks for adding me. ¶ Our many problems have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, and murderers — particularly those in public office — believe people are motivated only by greed and fear. They want us to share that belief, because they use it to justify themselves and to manipulate us. But you and I have found something better inside ourselves and our friends. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them — we're all one flesh and blood. Spread the word. The outcome to the ideological struggle is not yet determined, so no one can afford to be a spectator. ¶ The Iraq war, like most wars, was based on lies. And now the occupation is making new enemies faster than it can kill them; that's helpful only to arms dealers. The economy is all wrong too: the rich get richer and fewer, everyone else gets screwed, and the ecosystem gets trashed. These problems are not new, but lately they've become so blatant that we've begun to understand them. It's time to end the military-industrial complex and the corporatocracy. We the people must control government, and government must control business, not the other way around. A good start would be transparency in government, public financing of election campaigns, trustbusting the media, and ending corporate personhood. ¶ Question authority. Carry on the struggle. Hold onto hope. Keep singing. Hand in hand, we can heal the world.

    — Love, Eric
