BRETT FRIESEN is a singer/songwriter from St. Catharines, Ontario. Born August 10, 1984, he didn’t really begin to show interest in making music until his later years of high school. In fact, it wasn’t until his last year that he decided to pick up a guitar and attempt to teach himself to play. This eventually led to an addiction that has consumed his life ever since. In 2004 Brett was fortunate to form a band with AL DELUCA, and BEN TELFORD, and a very energetic writing realtionship was discovered. In 2005 they had the pleasure of recording a self-titled EP, with producer/engineer RYAN LENSSEN (The Most Serene Republic), and guest musicians GRAHAM TELFORD-Guitar and CASEY BAKER-Guitar/Vocals. Within the last year the band grew to include ADAM FAZEKAS on lead guitar and DEANNA HUNT ..boards and vocals. Due to the graduating of school, moving out of province, and becoming parents (congratulations Alfred) The Great Lakes have amicably decided to part ways. Brett will still hang around and write songs, maybe record some one day, and play the odd show here or there.
just thought I'd let you know, that song Carolina that you played at the Merchant last night was incredible. it almost made me cry a little. do you know when/where you're playing in the near future that would give the opportunity for merch? the lack of CDs was saddening. :P
