Cam Reschke: Percussion and Drums
Hello all:
My name is Brett Shoffner and I like to play music sometimes, like when others like to watch TV or do hard drugs. Some say I’ve had a shitty life, but I’m alive and that’s the main goal in the end, I suppose. My baby sister died in front of me when I was 12, stepmom tried to kill me at 14, father was murdered and died on my 19th birthday. In between all of those events and since then, I’ve tried to live the best life that I could. The songs I write try to reflect what I’ve found in life to be true. I hope you enjoy. --------------- Here is the bio from me and Cam Reschke’s album "At Home"::: Brett Shoffner started to learn how to play music and write songs after his father was murdered and died on his 19th birthday (January 2005). After honing his skills and lyrics for a couple years, Cameron Reschke started to provide a solid percussive backbeat to Brett’s songs. Having no previous experience playing the drumset, Cameron started with Brett in April of 2007 and has been a welcome force to Brett’s powerful lyrics. Brett and Cam have recently recorded an album entitled "AT HOME". This album was recorded in our home in North Lawrence with Cam playing the drumset and Brett playing the guitar in a live setting. After that, Brett over-dubbed keyboard, harmonica, vocal, guitar, percussion and many other instrumental parts. He then mixed and mastered the final result. Currently Brett and Cam are going to school at JCCC full time: Cam is working toward becoming a fire fighter, Brett is working on general ed stuff for Urban Design and Planning, Environmental Studies, and Geography degrees at UMKC. They both also work full time/close to full time, and are trying to promote their new music for the world to hear.
