    Bretwaldas ( of Heathen Doom ), from just outside Birmingham in England, formed in 2001 as a slow pagan doom metal act with influences from the darkest recesses of English 80s metal and hardcore punk. The music soon sped up in accordance with the stark subject matter of lyricist / bass player Wartooth. Three CDs have been released - 'Droner' from 2003, the well-received 'Battle Staffs In The Mushroom Woods' from 2006, and new album 'Seven Bloodied Ramparts' out on 6th May 2010. Bretwaldas has been featured and interviewed in a range of high street metal magazines, as well as underground fanzines, despite no live appearances and an almost zero promotion policy.
