About me: Get a scroller sign at yourpimpspace.com! A little background on me. I served as in the U.S.Air Force during the Gulf War as a Security Police Specialist. When I left the Military I found a job with a local Police Dept. in Pennsyvania. Soon after, I choose to go into the private sector as a Bodyguard. The money was good but it left me empty inside as I was serving an individual and not society on a whole. I found myself in New Jersey for a few years working and/or volunteering with several agencies, to include but not limited to Ocean City E.M.S., Several Chapters of the American Red Cross & the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management. I also own a Siberian Husky that is FEMA Certified as an Urban Search & Rescue K-9. We have worked several jobs together but recently she has been turned into the kids pet and we have not been on a job in over a year. I was born in Tampa Florida, grew up in Naples and after a few years away I came back to Florida and am currently living in Brevard County.
My goal here is to provide as much information as I can. If it helps even just one person in some small way, this site is a success. THANK YOU FOR VISITING

***HURRICANE CHECKLIST***
1) First, get important papers and special photos in order and secured in plastic. Identification is difficult and time-consuming to replace: so be sure to include social security cards, birth certificates, diplomas, titles and or property deeds. Photos of special occasions or loved ones cannot be replaced, so include these as important as well.
2) Think ahead and take video or photos of your property before you leave. This will help later on with and insurance checklist claims for damage that may need to be filed.
3) If staying with relatives is not an option, consider booking a room in a hotel or motel in another nearby town or state. Make sure to get directions and put them in the car ahead of time.
4) Unfortunately, it is unlikely that your pet will have a place in a motel or hotel. Keep this in mind and try to find alternate housing for your loved one until it is safe to return, or check out pet-friendly hotels in the area.
5) Designate a spot in a closet or laundry room to keep a bag of clothes for each person in the household. Include sleeping bags (gear) if staying in a temporary shelter.
6) Have these items in you Hurricane Kit: CASH ON HAND, GENERATOR, BATTERIES, FLASH LIGHTS, BATTERY OPERATED TV/RADIO, BOTTLED WATER, TOILET PAPER, NON-PARISHABLE FOODS, A MANUAL CAN OPENER, COOLER, CANDLES, PERSCRIPTION MEDICATIONS. If you have children: DIAPERS, BABY WIPES, FORMULA, BABY FOOD.
7) YOU CAN COUNT ON POWER TO BE OUT FOR AT LEAST TWO DAYS. HAVE CASH AS ATM'S WILL NOT WORK, HAVE A FULL TANK OF FUEL IN YOUR VEHICLE.
8) If you plan to tough out the storm, stay downwind in your home. This means if the wind is hitting the living room windows, go to the room opposite of the living room.
9) Hurricane shutters: If custom shutters are not an option, buy plywood in advanced. Supplies could be limited the closer the storm gets. DO NOT USE DUCT TAPE ON WINDOWS!! All this does is keep the window from breaking into smaller pieces. It will still break but in larger sections that could become fatal projectiles.
10) A First Aid Kit, Pet food, board games, cards, Decide on an out of area (out of State) contact that family members can contact to check on each other.
