where the fuck does that name come from?
a beer can. first gig, no name, lots of beer... do the math.
what sounds more like a random act of violent intoxication is exactly that.
what do you get when you put a bunch of boozehounds in a room long enough? they form a band.
what happens when you let them out again?
they play the same sick shit they do when in lockup.
1998 founding year.
the goal: boozing and playing kickass death metal.
1998 - 2003
brewed are boozing hard and playing kickass deathmetal.
member fluctuation in this era ranges from being admitted to psychiatric wards up unto quitting because of lack of commitment to their instruments (as well as impending liver failures). the demo "as to the terms of payment" is recorded and self produced in 2003.
2003-2006
excess ensues. members come and go, the remaining members hardly notice. good times. these years could be seen as a hiatus. the fixed lineup at this time consists of founding members michael and max, as well as bassist alex.
2006 - 2007
resulting from a bunch of heavy drinking sessions, a new frontman is found in flo who is shortly afterwards followed by stef who takes up the second lead guitar from this point on. flo's distinct vocal and whiskey drinking style and stefans motivation for fast paced playing and loads of beer fit in perfectly and with a complete lineup of booze frenzied drunkards, brewed & canned start writing and performing again mid 2006.
brewed & canned play a bunch of gigs, starting out fresh as the small name from the early days had died down due to 3 years lack of presence in the active music scene. all this changes when, after another bunch of gigs, brewed & canned win the voting to open up 2007s metalfest in vienna for finntroll, sfu, belphegor and nile, thanx to a small but dedicated fanbase.
the change in style from their first recording is manifested in the release of their new ep entitled "diseased" which is self produced and released sept 11th 2007.
2008
in early 2008, bass player alex is let go from the band to continue with his own side project. new bassist will steps in and delivers from day one. once more it feels like the lineup is complete.
new, more brutal material is in the making and is planned to be recorded in early 2009.
in the meantime, grab a bunch of beers with us at one of our next gigs.
