silence, chainsaws, chopping trees, watching my babies sleep, poverty, solitude, injustice, truth, realness, good beer, coffee, peking duck, Pat Metheny, King Crimson, The Who, Paul Hindemith, Yes, Peter Gabriel, Greg Howard, Sly & the Family Stone, Joni Mitchell...and possibly YOU.
Abilene (West Texas) area based solo Chapman Stickist and bassist-for-hire.
My solo Stick act has been featured in: weddings, receptions, art openings, dinner parties, and various gatherings of all occasions. My music can create atmosphere to any gathering from both extremes of the spectrum (unobtrusive background music to a center stage act).
On electric bass (and Stick), I can play with any band's style: combo or big band jazz, rock, pop, country, experimental, freak-a-zoid nutcase music, broadway pit orchestra show tunes...

Howdy Brian,
<br />Tried to leave a comment here (my normals all have html-code),

Hey Brian!
<br />Was gonna post some pics here but u have a html block...
<br />Linda's youngest 3 ended up w/her sister there in Abilene (& last 3 years she wouldn't allow me to see them cause I ALWAYS supported & tried to keep Linda in recovery),, But someday they will know the truth & I long to have them back in my life...
<br />If u ever wanna come & visit the mtn's, give me a holler!
<br />Peace&Love to you!!
Thanks for accepting the add. Good luck at the gig Thursday--I have a rehearsal until 7:30, but may head over after that. If I miss hearing you, I'll look out for you at future Artwalks, etc.
Namaste Brian! Thanx 4 the Add; Here's some RockyMtnHigh for your AWESOME space: Photos were HERE before HTML-Block Peace, Love & Blessings!! Fotos:DaveGidley
Hey Brian. Very cool Stick music here. Much respect! Thanks for the comments on our stuff. I sure would like to organize a seminar or even a big Stick "get-together" someday soon. We have a lot of tappers here, but the Lone Star state is so dang big and we're all pretty spread out! I can think of about 10 for Austin and Houston. Quite a few in the DFW area. Are you the only one in your area?
I think I can scibble up a lead sheet. I will say that I play the high chorused part Kim Thayil plays in the verses down an octave in between the bass and the melody. I have to split it up between the hands, though.
hi brian. good to see you on myspace! how have you been?
about the songs - you may have already done this - under Edit Profile and then Manage Songs. if you've uploaded them there and they still don't show up, i'm not sure.
For the place - I'm a Mississippi boy. I'm still learning the lay of the land around here.
As for time - Anytime!
It just seems like there are an awful lot of tappers around here. No such luck back home. I've met at least 5 and myspaced/phoned at least 4 more since I moved here 6 months ago.
