Originally From Saint John New Brunswick, Brian got his start playing bass with the Hill Brothers’ Band. During his time with the Bros, Brian played at various Jazz and Blues Festivals in the Maritimes as well as Quebec. Brian also made a name for himself as a private guitar instructor teaching 45+ students a week and starting his own business out of his home, Brian Bakers Guitar Studio. Where he taught guitar and bass lessons , sold instrument accessories, and performed instrument repairs.
When Brian wasn’t teaching or touring with the Hill Bros, he also did freelance recording for local musicians, played duo acoustic gigs with singer/ songwriters and booked his own solo performances. The solo performances usually took place in small cafes where Brian would intrigue the audience with his fingerstlye repertoire which included: Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Lenny Breau, and Classical material. Brian has also performed at weddings and private functions.
Currently, Brian is working with country music singer/songwriter Mark Cameron in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With Mark Cameron, Brian has performed at ECMA showcases, country music festivals, and is recording on Mark's new album.
