the debut single from this new irish based three piece on the new label cleft palate records, limited edition 10 inch pressing, the ep comes with a full version on cd inside the sleeve and it comes in a hand drawn envelope, the ep also comes with large foldout poster with a special board game on one side, the ep featues 3 blistering pieces of guitar heavy indie rock which kicks in like a heavenly blend of early sonic youth, teenage fanclub and my bloody valentine, its full of big distorted guitars, chunky synth sounds and a vocal delivery thurston moore himself would be proud of, the blend of their wall of sound like distorted guitars and oscillating synths works in a noisy but heavenly way, a truly superb debut, august 2007

Longing for a piece of flaming molten rock that funnels a sound that would be more comfortable in the late eighties/early nineties? Well, you’ve come to the right place as the 3-piece Dublin band Brian Cullen’s Love Bullets belch plumes of noise that’d have Thurston himself (or Mr Shields) smiling with pride. While so many bands who try to evoke this spirit just slink behind a wall of scuzzy noise BCLB’s also see fit to include a toe tapping tune. In the case of ‘Hands Up If You Hate Dick Jones’ your grandma may have already run for the hills before the true song emerges but don't let that put you off. It is taken from the bands debut EP ‘Ask For Directions’ which came out in August of last year. The follow up ‘Bring Out Your Dead’ is due in March, which will hopefully build on their brand of sweet aural carnage. KD

the second ep from one of our favourite indie rock bands around this city at the moment. brian cullens love bullets are a dublin based three piece and this beautifully packaged ep follows up their previous 10 inch vinyl only release from last year. the ep features in flames and i wanted to hate him because of his haircut. the ep features two perfect pieces of grunged up indie rock with a hint of everything from early pavement to the pixies to my bloody valentine. the ep comes packaged in a stunning softback 96 page book too. two superb tracks and a wonderful presentation, what more can you ask for. november 2008
