For those who may not know me or who don't know me quite as well as they'd like . . . a little bit about Brian David Phillips might be in order . . . I am . . . a . . . hypnotist, hypnotherapist, comedy hypnosis performer, entertainer, comedian, husband, father, trance guide, comedian, sexgod, good guy, and much more. I was born in Denver, Colorado, USA. I grew up in Abilene, Kansas, USA. I live in Taipei, Taiwan. I perform the only live comedy hypnosis show in Taiwan. I am the President of the Society of Experiential Trance. I am an author. I am a very very nice guy. I love my wife and daughter very much. We have a bunch of cats. I am a Melting Pot American (European, Cherokee, Comanche, African, and more). I am a focused trance guide.
My BA is in Speech and Drama. My MA is in Communication/Theatre. My PhD is in Comparative Literature. I teach in the undergraduate and graduate studies programs in English at National Chengchi University where I am an Associate Professor. I am a board certified hypnotherapist and teach seminars in hypnosis for members of the public as well as advanced hypnosis subjects for experienced hypnotists. I am an advocate of experiential trance as well as in applying hypnosis and trance techniques in many contexts . . . therapeutic, entertainment, recreational, and more. I am considered an expert in Speed Hypnosis (rapid and instant hypnosis techniques) among other subjects. I offer the only courses in performance hypnosis, couples hypnosis (yes, the consenting adult stuff), and many other subjects available in Taiwan.
Some folks ask what's the deal with all the wolves on many of my webpages and in some of my guided imagery recordings. Well, when I do introspective visualization, my spirit animal totems are the Wolf and the Bear. I consider the wolf to be part of my Cherokee lineage through my mother while I think of the Bear as coming through my Comanche lineage through my father. Those who know of such things might note that I am a descendant of Quanah Parker. My affinity with wolves and shapeshifters goes back a long ways. In a since, I've been a bit of a werewolf since I was a small boy, with very definate personality changes with the cycle of the moon (albeit, more of the spirt shapeshifter than a lycanthrope). My Chinese name is Lo Lang-Ren, the Lang Ren in my name means Gentle Wolf but is a homonym for werewolf. I often use the webmoniker of MeiguoLangren as in Meiguolangren Zai Taibei (An American Werewolf in Taipei) . . . I have lived in Taiwan since 1989 so it fits.

I predominately use myspace as part of a networking activity in order to raise awareness of folks living in Taiwan about my hypnosis services (I am a Certified Hypnotherapist) as well as the Comedy Hypnosis Show I perform.

Hi Brian, I'm in a few of your groups, Could you watch or participate in my Hypnotic Induction, and tell me what you think please? I have a 80% success rate. I do “Street Magic”, and hypnosis, and I ONLY Hypnotize one person at a time with lots of audience participation. I’ve been Certified 2 years by H.M.I. Plus I’m self-taught. I’m very safe my chair has arms. This Induction was a little rushed. I could’ve used 2 more minutes. It has Elman, Erickson, and a guy named Bernard Yam, plus my own influences. I do, do arm drop deepeners. My motto is better safe than sorry. I ALWAYS go for Somnabulism. I’ve printed this out and even MY OWN Hypnotherapist uses this ON ME. You can see the compounding, and fractionation I use, plus I LOVE the Erickson arm rise. It WORKS FOR ME. Oh Yes READ THE DESCRIPTION. It kinda had my Pre-Induction Talk. What do you think, Ed.
Eliminate all BUTs from your life. Think about what the effect of BUT is in your communication to yourself and others. When we talk to ourselves we often use BUT to distort our reality in a way that leads us to go down familiar negative paths. We tell ourself a postive and then use BUT to take it away a lot of times. We tell someone that we love them and then we spoil it by saying BUT this is happening which our special person interprets as we don't really love them. I am successful BUT I am not as motivated as I want to be. Does this take away from the pleasure of being successful or does it take away the success altogether.
Use the word AND instead; you will find that you are more at peace with yourself, and your friends and family appreciate the positive talk. You will even find it easier to get rid of that other BUTT when you stop using BUT altogether.
