Brian Dolzani is a singer/songwriter based in Connecticut, crafting songs that speak to the hurt, longing, and love that churns in the well of the human heart. Brian has earned finalist performances in several open-mic songwriting competitions on the East Coast, most notably at Eddie's Attic in Atlanta and the World Cafe in Philadelphia. He placed runner-up in a 2008 song contest from British-based company We Are Listening.
The self-titled 'Brian Dolzani' is Brian's 5th independent record. It features 11 songs, recorded at the reputable Carriage House Studios in Stamford, CT. Brian sings and plays all guitars, acoustic piano, Wurlitzer piano, Rhodes piano, and Hammond organ. Fleshing out the sessions were the talents of drummers Tim Newton and Drew McKeon, bass player Juan Vega, Violinist Ben Dean, and upright bass player Brian Anderson.
'I lost my father in a car accident when I was fifteen,' Brian reflects, 'and my purpose was cast: to attempt to assemble the broken pieces of life into something resembling beauty and meaning.' It's this combination of reverence and defiance that makes Brian's music so interesting and relatable, most notable in songs such as the spiritual desert motif of ‘Water’ and the nostalgic longing of ‘Summer’.
