Moosehound: My newest of groups features Steve Pruitt (d), Phill Aelony (g), Ryan Hagler (b), and Justin Stanton (keys). We play tunes by me and Phill.
...and...
Snarky Puppy: this band includes, at various times, Justin Stanton (tp), Mike Maher (tp), me (saxes), Sara Jacovino (tb), Stephen Smith (tb), Robert "Sput" Searight (drums/keys), Bernard Wright (keys), Bill Laurance (keys), Chris McQueen (g), Bob Lanzetti (g), Michael League (b/leader), Steve Pruitt (d), Nate Werth (perc). We play tunes by all kinds of critters-- mainly Mike League-- but also by Bill, me, Sput, Maz, and who knows who else.
Influences
As a saxophonist, I've been influenced by many, many players. There are a few that I've spent a conspicuous amount of time listening to, like Wayne Shorter, Michael Brecker, Gary Thomas, Kenny Garrett, Mark Turner, Chris Potter, David Binney, and of course Cannonball, Coltrane, and Bird.
As a (dare I say?) bassist, my first big influence was Sting, soon followed by Jaco, my first jazz hero. I also love Oteil Burbridge, John Patitucci, "Left Hand" Kevin Williams, Matt Garrison, Alphonso Johnson, and Tim Lefebvre.
Some composers/songwriters I like are Wayne Shorter, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder, John McLaughlin, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, David Binney, Stone Temple Pilots, Peter Gabriel, Michael League (bump), Phill Aelony (double bump), Muse, Radiohead, Paul Simon, and Busta Rhymes.
Sounds Like
A combination of Jerry Cantrell and Jaco Pastorius, but on a saxophone.
These are some of the people I've worked with, whether on gigs, performances, recording sessions, or tours: Snarky Puppy, Moosehound, Nelo, Robert Searight, Bernard Wright, Myron Butler & Levi/God's Property, Candy West, Shaun Martin, Zach Brock, Ross Pederson, Hildegunn Gjedrem, Adonis Rose, Jason Marsalis, Phil Woods, Bobby Sparks, Pete Christlieb, Absolute Entertainment, Encore Productions, the Bulletproof Brass, Bill Holman, Benny Golson, Wayne Bergeron, Lou Marini, Rufus Reid, and many others.
I like to play classic music of all genres, but what I live for is original music. Some original groups I've been heavily involved with are Nelo, Moosehound, and Snarky Puppy. I compose, arrange, and produce music electronically and for live bands. If you have a project that you want me to be a part of, email me at heavyweather77 at gmail dot com. My instruments are saxophones, woodwinds, bass, guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, and computers.

Well, dang. Dandy Dan and Underground will miss you! Sounds like you're doing well, though. Holla! I'd drive over but I have a mean virus right now, and I don't want to spread the funk na na...
