Brian Fitzgerald: Instrumentalist, Vocalist, Producer, Recording Engineer
Influences
Life. And then in no particular order...
Steely Dan, EWF, Yes, Blackstar, RJD2, Jean-Luc Ponty, Stevie Wonder, G Love & Special Sauce, The Roots, John Coltrane, Genesis, Rage Against The Machine, Led Zep, Charlie Parker, Ski, Hitek, Soulive, Brian Wilson, A Tribe Called Quest, The Beatles, Jamiroquai, BDK, Camp Lo, Jazzy Jeff, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Living Colour, Average White Band...etc.
A lot of people call me Fitz, but after spendin a lot of time in the cipher, a lot of cats started callin me Fitzy -- maybe because it rhymes with more words. Everything you hear on here is me. I perform, record, produce, and verb it all. You can find me performing in the Philly area in a variety of settings and working within a variety of genres.
I've performed on Philadelphia's NBC 10, and on 93.3FM WMMR, and garnered attention from other Philly media outlets.
I've done session work with numerous producers, been a part of many mixtapes, and am nearly always available for work in a studio setting. Just contact me.
I've got a Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Performance major on violin, guitar minor, from West Chester University in PA. I also play saxophone, bass, and drums...you could say piano, too, but that would be a stretch.
I've been playing in rock bands and other groups since I was a young teenager and have been doing production and engineering work for almost as long. I've also been workin with hip hop for longer than I can remember, both the vocal and instrumental sides. My goal is to do something undefinable; merging everything I've been brought up on since day 1 and making it tangible.
I'm in a rock band called Leaving Cash, so check us out. Leaving Cash aside, almost every project I've put together has fallen apart just before things really started to get good. While in college I decided to start recording all of my own stuff by myself, and whatever happens outside of that, happens.
In February of 2008 I was a TOP 3 finalist in the My Grammy Moment competition and I performed with the Foo Fighters under the direction of John Paul Jones at the 50th Grammy Awards. Needless to say, it was amazing.
