PARLIAMENT SQUARE PEACE PROTESTOR ON PEACE WALK TO OXFORD
Brian Haw to take part in historic peace debate at Oxford Union
Walk starts Monday 4 February, 10am, Parliament Square, London
Debate at Oxford Union Thursday 7 February, 8.30pm
On Thursday 7th February, Brian Haw will be taking part in a debate at the Oxford Union entitled 'This House Would Under No Circumstances Fight For Queen And Country'.
On 4 February at 10am Mr Haw will be leaving the site of his vigil opposite Parliament where he has protested against the government's foreign policy for over 6 years to walk with a group of supporters to Oxford. The peace walk will go through Uxbridge and High Wycombe and arrive in Oxford on 7 February.
The 'Queen and Country' debate marks the 75th anniversary of the famous 'King and Country' debate at the Oxford Union in 1933 when the vote was
carried in favour of the motion that 'This House Would Under No Circumstances Fight For its King And Country'. [1]
This vote for peace among students became news around the world. The debate is being restaged 75 years, and many wars, later with prominent campaigners making the case for peaceful alternatives to war. [2] George Galloway MP, Walter Wolfgang and Scilla Elworthy will be speaking for the motion with Brian Haw. [3]

The turning-about is upon Us, the turning of Mind, the expansion of Eyes, the presence of Children who bathe in the Light of the Stars; their distant brothers move closer, cherish the Light that shapes from within.
Our heritage, the Spirit who soars, the Mind that Dreams, the Heart that reaches out.
O, Children of Creation, the Island of Light is within You. As You reach for Your home in the Sun, the Lamp of Your becoming strikes brilliance everywhere- you are Free.

"The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy
Raga came round today, rainbow tribe matriarch, peace movement grande damme (little old pixie lady with red hair and funny clothes) bringing a white rose she found in a dustbin by sychronicity (things always get funny when i dont sleep)
anyway after calling david shayler who sent us his recently written proof that he is the Messiah (available on request) she then says whats wrong on trafalgar square, i say fairly shure nothing, she says she cant get thru to her usual crew shall she call brian, we discuss what to say for a little while...
he was fine, all is fine, she asked if he'd like someone to bring him christmas dinner
she then made me take her to union chapel where the quakers are preparing food for the homeless to persuade them to bring brian a proper cooked christmas dinner in which i do believe she shall succeed
