Myspace Layouts Serenade - Music for Saxophone & Piano

GO TO www.brianhorner.com TO PURCHASE

Brian Horner has enjoyed a rewarding partnership with composer M. Zachary Johnson that has resulted in the premieres of more than ten new works for saxophone. Their concerts have been presented at such venues as Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall and New York City's Mannes College of Music, as well as at the Glimmerglass Opera's Young Artist recital series in Cooperstown, NY. Joined by pianist Elizabeth Avery, they released Saxophone Music of M. Zachary Johnson--Live At Steinway Hall in August 2006. In reviewing the CD, Saxophone Journal praises Mr. Horner's "warm, vibrant sound" and hails the music as "a very valuable addition to the saxophone's repertoire." The album rose to become a “Top Seller” at premier online retailer CD Baby during August, 2006.

A versatile player, Horner has performed with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, appeared with the Nashville Saxophone Quartet on National Public Radio affiliate WPLN's "Live in Studio C" and shared the stage with noted Armenian folk-rocker Gor Mkhitarian. He can be heard on singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters' Halcyon album, which features his soprano saxophone performance on "The Aviator's Song,” broadcast throughout England and Scotland. As a member of The Arbor Quartet, Horner was a prizewinner in the 1998 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Indiana, and a finalist in the 1999 Coleman Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena, California.

Horner graduated from the University of Michigan School of Music, where he studied with Donald Sinta, and currently serves on the faculty at Austin Peay State University (Tennessee). He is also deeply involved in the business side of music and is the owner of Sound Artist Support, a company that provides custom support, marketing and booking to independent artists and musicians.

Brian Horner is a Conn-Selmer Artist and a D'Addario/RICO Performing Artist and endorses Selmer (Paris) saxophones and RICO Grand Concert Select reeds.

Hello Brian,

Thanks so much for the Add–and your friendship. We enjoyed your music very much. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. It's a pleasure having you among our friends!

We've just added two new blogs about Umano, plus four more new compositions, making ten on our space. We hope you and your friends visit us and enjoy our music, too.

We wake up every morning and play the music of the new MySpace friends who have arrived at our site during the night. It occurred to us that these friends (you are among them) are almost universally positive, whether they be novices or legends, and without regard to their station in life or the country they occupy.

Although it's not an original thought, it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other.

We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large.

What a gift and what an opportunity we have received from this technology!

Hi Brian

Great to see some classical sax on MySpace!

Have you heard my pieces for sax? I have one for sax and piano and one for sax quartet, both of which are on my site. Just click on the music section.

I'd love to get your comment on them.

Cheers,

Alain

Thx for the request,

If you want to do me a favour, you can download my songs for FREE at www. openpot. com/ingogabriel.
It..s an interesting concept: The artist is paid by openpot, the user
downloads for free, he just has to watch 10 sec of commercial till the downloadbutton appears.
Have a look.
