Hi my name is Brian Houston and this is my story so far...
I write songs and make records.............i play shows..................people come..........sometimes they buy records and dvds and then I go to the next town and do it again...........people laugh and people cry...don't know why?......it seems it touches their souls......................more come the next time I play................especially in America........................thats nice...........................................A new one is just hatching now..............................I made it with my friends..............its great !!!! ......I think........well i like it anyway.............I'll play more shows in Ireland England America and Canada..............anywhere they speak English and can make me out.........it will be the best one ever....................I hope ...........................................................................life is rich when your songs are on the radio and people love you.................I'm grateful for that............hey this year I even got a song on a record with Elvis Presley and Patty Griffin......................life is sweet when you're in the company of legends.............................I hope to be well known for my music across the world some day.........I'm sure it will happen quite unexpectedly............................... just when I'm not looking.............I'm looking forward to that...well in a "I'm not looking" ... kinda way..................then i'll own a big fancy studio and have big house and build a home for battered sausages................... I mean wives........................................."its a good life after all"........... Brian Houston is one of life's born storytellers, willing, or perhaps more accurately compelled, to open his heart. He cares deeply about the subjects of his songs and perhaps even more deeply in how they are presented to the audience. He may be engaging and charming but he's not about to sell his talents cheaply.
By the end of Three Feet Of Gold you're left with the unshakable belief that every track is the best it possibly could be and from a talent like Brian Houston's, that's saying something.

Put bluntly this is a wonderful album!
Albums like this are what I love about reviewing
There is so much musical variety and good, strong melodies on here whether it be the gospel tinged 'Sister Of Mine' or the instant hit that is the single 'Oranges'…. 'Somebody Save Me' reminds me of early REM whilst 'The Queen Of Hearts' is one of the best pop rock tunes I have heard all year
These varied styles all meld well with Brian Houston's vocals which are melodious and easy on the ear.
The production is crystal clear allowing the listener to pick each instrument out of the musical mix.
The sign of a good album for me is the more you play it the more you discover and enjoy after each listen and this album succeeds at this with aplomb.
