About Brian James Balban

Hi and welcome to the official Brian James Balban My Space Page. Let me take you through my musical journey which started in the early eighties following the local music scene in my home town of Gibraltar. It wasn't until 1989 however, and now living in the UK, that I had the opportunity of enjoying a decade of music playing in different bands, acoustic projects and recording sessions. Around 2001 I decided it was time to follow my true passion for songwriting and I recorded my first E.P. titled "FREE SPIRIT" with producer Kris Holland. By early 2006 I was back in the studio ready to record my second E.P. titled "HEARTLAND". After submitting my songs to numerous competitions I'm proud to say that one of them qualified in the Top 40 in the Pop Uptempo category at the 2006 Unisong Songwriters Competition. The song, titled "SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE", received an Honourable Achievement Award. February 2007 saw the finished work on my latest E.P. titled " MOVING ON". Here you can enjoy songs from this E.P. October 2008 and I've just finished recording 3 new tracks from my latest E.P titled " FEEL GOOD ". Hear you can enjoy 3 new Pop songs, one of which features Ms Stephanie Rodriguez on vocals. Song is titled: " 5 Miles ". Hope you enjoy the songs from this Album as well as songs from as far back as 2001. Just recently the Songs " It's Alright " and " Summertime Angel" have both reached the semi-finals at the UK Songwriting Competition 2009.
