He coordinated the studio sessions for this project with Victor Owens of Digisonic Recording Studios in Berkeley California.
Aside from his own solo career(which is on hold at the moment due to him seriously injuring his voice , with the exception of "Fifty Fifty Love" (Interlude) which is his 1st public recorded performance since his voice injury) , Brian has done Production and or Session work for some of the Bay Area's top Vocalist's - Performers and Producers Including:
Derick Hughes(Vocalist/Songwriter) - Pamela Flax(Vocalist/Songwriter)Ervin Dinwiddie(Vocalist/Songwriter/Producer) - Shelanda Lemons(Vocalist/Songwriter) - Pheleta Santos(Vocalist) - Lisa Cruz(Vocalist/Songwriter) and Nina Causey(Vocalist).
In Late 2005 He ended a standing engagement at Joe’s Of Lafayette In Lafayette California as one half of the Musical Duo Shelanda and Flax. The Duo Shelanda and Flax also performed on several occasions at The Cannery in San Francisco California.
Other events in 2005 include performing as a Vocalist/Pianist as the entertainment for 100 Black Men and 100 Black Women’s Scholarship Ceremony.
He also performs and inpersonates The Late Ike Turner in The Barron Edwards’ Motown 60's Review.

It was around this time that he earned the alias
"The Ambassador of Peace and Love"
In June, 2003, Pastor Carol Harris-Willoughby From New Life For Christ Ministries hired him as her MOM(Minister of Music).
At Skyline High School, Brian received instruction from Mr. Everett Baines as a member of the renowned advanced Choir, “The Voices of the Sky”.
As a member of the Voices of the Sky Brian performed at many public events, including the 1998 memorial services for Mayor Lionel Wilson. He was also under the instruction of Mr. Harley White and Mr. Ted Allen as the orchestra directors.
Brian was the first freshmen that was allowed to join the Performing Arts Academy he was also the first freshmen who was allowed to perform solo.
Brian performed solo for many of the schools events, from Concerts. Assemblies, Awards Banquets. Brian was also the youngest member allowed to perform with the
Bay Area Mass Choir, comprised of Churches of Christ all over the Bay Area.
Also in his Freshmen year at Skyline(1997) , Brian was asked by one of his instructors , Ms. Angela Wheeler (who is the cousin of one of the Bay Area's most awesome Vocalist's Mr. Derick Hughes) to write music to a poem that her mother had written and transform and arrange it into a song.
The song is entitled "Love Through All Seasons" .
(Lyrics Written By: Ann Weaver - Music Written and Arranged By: Brian Flax)
The general idea was for Derick to record the song on one of his future CD's , However due to the fact that Derick is a very busy man Ms. Wheeler requested that Brian record the song himself.
When Brian was asked about the change in plans he had this to say
"When i wrote the music to the song and arranged the lyrics i never had any intentions on singing it.. I have been a huge admierer of Derick ever since the 1st time i ever heard him sing so when i wrote the song i tried to write it as closley to his style as i possibly could.
When the song was presnted to him he loved it... he arranged it the way he wanted and made it sound even more like his own song.
To be able to play the piano and have one of your favorite singers in the whole world singing a song less then 10 feet away from you and on top of that he's singing a song that you wrote the music to was a mind blowing experience. I am honored to call him one of my main mentors as well as my friend and i look forward to working with him again."
In December, 1999 Brian was asked to compose a holiday song for the Skyline Orchestra to perform at the Holiday concert Following in the footsteps of one of his biggest influences Mr. Donny Hathaway who has been said to have written the 1st black mainstream Christmas song... Brian.. along with his Mother Pamela Flax( An Accomplished and well known Bay Area Vocalist in her own right) wrote “Christmas Is A Time For Love.
Brian sang lead vocals and supplied his own piano accompaniment and was also accompanied by The Skyline High School Orchestra. They received a standing ovation.
Brian has been acting and singing since elementary school, in school plays each year and in community theater musicals.
He was also in the television documentary, Black Is, Black Aint at age 7, appeared in a commercial advertising the East Bay Regional Parks at age 8. At age 10 he was written up for his oratorical expertise, reciting for Oakland’s M. L. King celebration.
In 1997, He appeared at Kimballs East(On of the most popular night clubs in the Bay Area) playing the role of a young Duke Ellington in the play” Bubbling Brown Sugar” .
He was also in The Black Repatory Theatre’s 1997 production of Lady Sings the Blues, reviving his role as a young Duke Ellington once again.
Brian performed in two other plays for the Repertory Theater that year, playing the roles of a minister in You Better Ask Somebody and a youth in Our Streets Our Neighbor-hoods.
Brian is a very spiritually grounded young man who is very serious about his work. He has aspirations to become a major part of the entertainment industry.

Hey, Beej. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes, Man! How are you? It went well today other than being stuck in work-related class for a portion of it. I saw "Hancock", with Will Smith. It must say, it was really good. Then again watching a black man flying through the air with a fifth of Hen-Doggie-Dog breaking shit always makes me smile. :)It has my recommendation if you're thinking of going. Be cool, Fam.
