InfluencesMany varied influences including, Hank Williams, Scruggs and Flatt, The Motown sound, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Cat Stevens, Steve Goodman, John Prine, Guy Clark, Hoyt Axton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and many, many more have all contributed to my outlook and writtings.
Sounds LikeJohn Haitt, Cat Stevens, Leon Redbone and of course himself. A powerful, yet warm baritone will touch a part of your soul. His laid back yet intense style of deliverly will capture your attention and his words will take you on a journey of imagination mixed with a touch of humor based in reality.

   About Brian Kendig
A self taught musician on multiple instruments, Brian, started performing and writing shortly after taking up guitar. He played solo for a number of years until he formed the group called "Fresh Water". A name he carried for about ten years that ended in Tucson Arizona. There he hooked up with an existing duo by the name of "Woodrose" and took up playing the base guitar. They played all over the state of Arizona doing folk, country, bluegrass, and acoustic blues material with three part harmony and multi-instrumental abilities. He also was involved in a songwriters group with about twenty-five other writers, learning and honing the craft, and co-writing songs with other writers. In 1984, Brian moved back to Maryland and went back to playing solo gigs, mainly in the Fells Point area of Baltimore. In 1989 he formed the group "Blind Dogs" and recorded ten of Brian's' songs. Because of a name conflict he changed the name to "Night Street" and released a cassette tape, locally, in 1994. A solid performer that's been bar tested for 25 plus years. From solo work to duo's and trios, 4 and 5 piece bands. Has roots deep in country, bluegrass, folk, Rock and roll and the blues. A songwriter of many styles and flavors with versatile vocals to get the point across. In 2001 He released a solo CD "Catfish Moon" of 11 original songs. It is available at all gigs as well as at CDbaby.com. Song List For Night Street Tape: (Out Of Print) Can't Get My Mind off of You, Lost Weekend, Blue Funk, Got Them Blues Again, Never Know A Suitcase to Lie, Watch Out Willie, Night Street, Believe Me, Summer Of Love, Just My Luck. Songs on Catfish Moon; Do You Think?, Sometimes I Get The Blues, Got Them Blues Again, Lets Boogie, Watchout Willie, Music Has Ruined My Life, Believe Me, If You See My Baby, Cold Cold Cold, She Even Took The Car, Sweet Slow Song.

Hey Brian-
Cool seeing ya and very cool of ya to hang out for some tunes at Sean Bolan's a couple weekends ago!  I cruised out of town for holiday right afterwards and am finally catching up on correspondence.

Great to hear that your summer's been so full of music - I hope it continues!

Missin' you. Your on the drive down to Ol Virginny about this time. 'would really like to sit in and play bass for you. I gifted you CD to some friends here in Bloomington who should get turned on by it. Both women and both singers. Don't be surprized if they write.

Today's tribute song is Hold On I'm Coming, written by Isaac Hayes and Porter.
Photobucket

Dont you ever be sad
Lean on me in times of bad
When the day comes and youre in doubt
In a river of trouble about to drown

Hold on, hold on
Im coming, Im coming
Hold on, hold on
Im coming, Im coming

Im on my way your lover
When you get cold
Ill be your cover
Dont have to worry
Because Im here
Dont need to suffer
Because Im here

Hold on, hold on
Im coming, Im coming
Hold on, hold on
Im coming, Im coming

Reach out to me
For satisfaction
Call my name
Quick reaction
Hey hey hey

Dont you ever be sad
Lean on me in times of bad
When the day comes and youre in doubt
In a river of trouble about to drown

Dont you ever be sad
Lean on me in times of bad
Hold on, hold on
Im coming, Im coming
