Brian Pearce busked the streets and bars of Europe between the years 1994 and 2000. In addition he busked in New York while participating in the TIGHTROPE musical, a play written by Ken Post [ with Bonnie Burns].
The journal exists, at present, as approx. 750,000 hand written words formatted in about 55 segments
Notes on the songs currently on the music player:
If only I could:
Lyrics written by Judith Franklin. I put the music onto it and this version is a fresh version that I done today (03/07/09). There is a strong femininity to the words that would suit a female jazz singer, but it's damn awkward for me to sing. Nonetheless the song has a deep meaning for me because Judith and I had deep meaning for me.
Will you sleep with me:
Dates back to 1996. She was going one way (south) and I was going the other (north). We met in Bern, Switzerland, and shared our time and our bodies for awhile. Making love and having sex are two different things. This recording was done by Bert Leysens in 1999 and this remix was done today (03/07). Streets of london:
Cover of Ralph Mctell classic.
Mystery Man:
Lyrics written by Apache John (see friends below). I put the music onto it and this recording was done last Sunday (7/6/09). The song emerged in about 1989.
You sailed the seas:
Written 1996. Dedicated to Ruth. My latest recording (05/07/2009) and I think one of my best. I'm getting the hang of it slowly.
Fairy tales are real:
Written in 1995. Recorded a couple of days ago.
Living a lie:
Written in 1988. Recorded last Sunday.
Atalanta:
Written in 1999. Recorded live on Radio Centraal (Antwerp).
Rainrise:
Lyrics written by Judith Franklin. I put the music onto it. It was the first song I ever came up with (late seventies). Recorded last year.
Across the sea:
Written in 1996. Original recording in 1997. Remixed last year.
People who may wish to incorporate one of my songs into their act can expect to find a positive response from me.
Hi Brian. Thanks for the friend request. We love your songs. They're particularly soothing after a hard day of trying to rob trains (with a water pistol and a donkey). xx the desperado housewives
Hi eddy! I reckon we probably met in Geneva. Jim seems to think so. I was there for three weeks in 1995 and met a whole bunch of great musicians. A half Swiss, half Belgian guy named Pierre put me up while I was there. He had pianist friends who would come round and play Chopin beautifully on his piano. I love Chopin. Great experience.
Hello Brian sorry for not getting back sooner. Hope all is well with you.I know I met you somewhere down the endless highway but not sure where. Please don't take it as an insult but as you know with our lives sometimes things in the memmory slip especially as we get older as we do.Have a great day."Be lucky"
