Brian started his professional music career in Houston, playing in Rock, Jazz, and R&B bands across town. Shortly after, Brian joined his first Latin band, Mango Punch! For six years, his sweet tenor voice and steady drum skills propelled him into one of the most versatile musicians and vocalists in the Houston Latin music scene, which has lead to many appearances singing the National Anthem in all of Houstons sporting venues, such as the Astrodome, the Compaq Center, and Minute Maid Field. After much incouragement, Brian took a much sought after opportunity to come out from behind the drum kit to front and form his own Latin band, "Tropi Crew". For three years, Tropi Crew" built a strong following. In the summer of 2002, Brian released his debut CD, "As Va, As Es" on the Hacienda International label, the largest Hispanic independent record label in the US. In November of that year, Brian recorded the vocals for the Texas Lottery jingle and was featured in the TV commercial, which aired on Spanish language Radio and Television throughout Texas. In May of 2002, Brian moved to LA to pursue his musical career. Through his good friend, Ignacio Elisavetsky, Brian had the opportunity to meet and work with Latin singer/songwriter, Alejandro Lerner, from Argentina. In 2003, Brians song, Always You, took third place in the Austin Songwriters Group Song Contest, and in 2004, his song, Be All Alone, was the monthly champion of the Makeastar.com competition, won first place for the month of May and was a finalist, in the VH-1 songoftheyear.com competition, took second place in the Unisong International Song Contest, and was a semi-finalist in the 2005 UK International Song Contest. Most recently in September of 2005, Brian participated in recording with Alejandro Lerner, the background vocals for the theme song of the Spanish version of Disney's Chicken Little, which was released in November 2005. In the past, Brian has won several awards for his songwriting and vocal skills as well. He won the "Best Male Vocalist" Award presented by the Houston Press Music Association. He went to New York to compete in the finals of the Buscando Banda's Show, hosted at the famous Tropicana Nite Club, and came away with first place in the International /Pop vocal category. His songs, "Time For You", "Cada Dia, Cada Noche", and "Hey Little Girl", won him an honorable mention in the annual Billboard Songwriting Contest. He has also competed in Sueos De Fama, the Spanish version of Star Search and is a current member of ASCAP.With the latest release of his new videos, Vuelve and I Dont Wanna, Brian is ready to leave his mark on the music industry. Whether he is singing in English or Spanish, for Brian, music is his life. With his special way of expressing his feelings, hopes, and dreams, he touches each and everyone us, young and old, male or female.
Most recently Brian has made it as a TOP 10 finalist in the FAMECAST.COM online music video competition. FAMECAST.COM offers the top 5 a chance to perform live in Austin, Texas and a chance to win $10,000.
Hi again, Brian. Been a while since our last chat. I just placed your "I Don't Wanna" video on my page--it is the least I can do to remember my once great online friend Erika Jordan. I miss her so much. Hope you are doing well otherwise. Let's catch up sometime, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks...it's nice to get good feedback! I'm really looking my age now, but oh well...LOL Glad you had a good time in Houston. Would love to have been there.
