It all started like this... Back in 1995, I asked my youth pastor, Wendell Loewen, if he could teach me a few chords on the guitar. My Grandmother loaned me an old nylon stringed classical guitar (I really wish I still had that), and I started to play. Soon I was in front of my youth group with Wendell leading worship. I loved performing, so I started writing songs and singing them for whoever would listen.
In college a few friends suggested that I record my original stuff. Computer-based recording was just getting started then, and a few hundred dollars later I had an M-Audio Delta 44, a mixer, and a microphone, and the musical phenomenon began. I continued to play for friends and was asked to put on a few concerts for the local college coffee house known as the Bean Counter. You can experience one of the electrifying shows by picking up a copy of “Brian Wahl – Live at the Bean Counter".
You might ask yourself why this is Brian Wahl "Band". So far it looks like one guy doing his thing. It’s still pretty much just me, but the recordings sound like a band, so there you go. My latest project is called "13 Miles". Pick up a copy of "Brian Wahl Band - 13 Miles" from CDBaby.com. It is a full 12-song album guaranteed to rock your socks off.
So what is going on these days?
