HISTORY
The not-so-secret formula of the Winterthur band “bricks” seems to be made up of two hand-me-down synthesizers, a drum machine and a poultice of rock’n’roll.
For a long time, the band’s EP “Turn Up Your Radio” was available only on the black market and traded at record prices in young offenders’ institutions in Great Britain. Today, this rare disc is being sold by the Zurich netlabel “alpinechic” under the label “disco rock meets sophisticated songwriting and distorted irony”.

If this piece of good news wasn’t enough, the band will be performing live when their frontman gets back from Hampshire. This five-strong combo really rocks! When the bass drum kicks in on stage, many a female listener might wonder about whether the guys on the Chesterfield sofa behind her are in fact the members of Franz Ferdinand. Well, the answer is most likely “no”…

…but they would probably check out “bricks” and go to their concerts all the same.

Deux synthés défraîchis, une boîte à rythme et une bonne dose de Rock'n'Roll. Telle est la recette plus ou moins secrète du groupe bricks de Winterthur.
Pendant longtemps, le maxi cd "Turn Up Your Radio" était uniquement disponible sur le marché noir ou se vendait dans les centres d'éducation britanniques à un prix record.
Désormais, cette œuvre rare est distribuée par le label Internet zurichois alpinechic, sous le nom de "disco rock meets sophisticated songwriting and distorted irony".

Les bonnes nouvelles n'arrivent jamais seules. Après le retour du chanteur de Hampshire, bricks et ses cinq membres reviennent sur le devant de la scène pour faire danser le public au son du rock. Et à l'entrée d'une grosse caisse percutée, les spectatrices de se demander si les jeunes sur le canapé griffé Chesterfields derrière elles sont bel et bien les garçons de Franz Ferdinand. Probablement non.

Toutefois, elles iront à tous les coups voir bricks à l’un de leurs concerts.

Gute Neuigkeiten kommen selten allein.
Nach der Rückkehr ihres Frontmanns aus Hampshire treten bricks nämlich live auf. Die 5-köpfige Combo rockt und will gebucht werden.
Wenn auf der Bühne eine kickende Bassdrum einsetzt, fragt sich manche Zuhörerin ob es sich bei den Jungs auf dem Chesterfield-Sofa hinter ihr tatsächlich um Franz Ferdinand handelt. Die Antwort ist wahrscheinlich nein.
