In May 2005, two Wolverhampton-based school friends, Richard Campbell and Sam Collins, placed an ad in a local newspaper. They were seeking
a vocalist, bass player and drummer.
Joe Karchud answered their call. A wannabee vocalist, with no vocal
experience! Next to come onboard, was drummer, Luke Bryant and
finally Richard Willis, on bass guitar.
By August 2005, the band was complete and began to rehearse twice
a week, after school.
In 2006, with the band having been together, less than a year, they decided to
enter the Midland’s Battle of the Bands competition. 54 bands entered and
Bridge 55, a band, who by this time, still had less than 2 years experience, went
on to win.
The band’s growing success, generated a lot of interest and by late 2007, they secured the services of Pulse Music Management, who funded their second studio demo. Upon completion, the 3 track cd was sent to Universal/Island Records who were so impressed, they decided to fund the band’s third studio demo recording.
Now with an armoury of great songs, the band are looking to spread their wings and take the music to the people. All that remains to say is….. watch this space!
“Friday night at BASE STUDIOS in Stourbridge we film
bands and musicians who come down to play the OPEN MIC and we
make promotional videos for FREE. Just turn up at 7pm to play the OPEN MIC. Filming begins at 7pm.
There's always a crew there. The Bar opens at 7pm too and if you want more
people in your video then bring a crowd down with you (It makes your videos
look better)” - Nick
