Un toga party è un tipo di festa in maschera nella quale tutti i partecipanti indossano una toga (spesso ottenuta partendo da un lenzuolo) e dei sandali. Questa particolare abitudine si diffuse molto tra i college e nei campus universitari statunitensi a partire dal 1978, anno dell'uscita del film Animal House. John Belushi, che interpreta Bluto nella pellicola, contribuì alla diffusione dei toga party. Si suppone che l'idea per questo tipo di festa sia nata all'interno del collegio maschile Whidden Hall della McMaster University, università frequentata da Ivan Reitman, uno dei produttori di Animal House.

LIVE: Fan Death Fan Death sono un nuovo progetto synth-pop nato dall'unione tra Dandilion Wind Opaine, Marta Jaciubek e il produttore Szam Findlay. Il loro primo singolo Veronica's Veil uscito da poco, è stato prodotto da niente meno che il mostro sacro Erol Alkan per la sua etichetta Phantasy Sound. Le copie in vinile del singolo sono andate brevemente a ruba e le reazioni da parte della carta stampata non hanno esitato ad arrivare: NME, Times Of London, The Guardian, Spin, Playboy, Fader, Dazed hanno tutti cantato le lodi di Fan Death. Il primo concerto tenutosi a New York è andato sold out, così come al Durr di Londra con i Franz Ferdinand e a Vancouver, la loro città natale, a supporto di Metronomy. Poi è arrivato il video di Veronica's Veil, girato a Jalisco in Messico, con un budget di soli 500 dollari. Dopo poche settimane su Youtube, si potevano contare già 50mila visualizzazioni. Anche in Italia l'interesse nei confronti di Fan Death non è tardato ad arrivare: copertina del numero di Marzo di Pig Magazine. www.myspace.com/fandeath
