Jason Moon formed the band in the summer of 2008 to play some of the hundreds of songs he has written over the last 15 years. The core group is Jason, Trent, Lee, and Ian - but they have a large extended family of musicians that join in whenever they can. The name of the band represents the positive energy that they try to create with their music and their shows.
What does the name mean? Well it's like this:
Seems the universe contains some kind of great truth. What it is, no one seems to know. A lot of people pretend to know, and that's where we get religion from. It seems like whenever we expand our consciousness a bit (through meditation, psychedelics, art, music, or any combination), we catch a glimpse (maybe) of this great truth. So if music helps us transcend, maybe musicians and composers are kind of like bridges or pathways. Bridges Of Light? Not that this band has any more idea of what the truth is than anybody else, but if music really is a universal language that gives us a glimpse of the ocean of consciousness, then trying to tap into it for inspiration is like trying to build that bridge. Plus it sounds cool...
Here's a slideshow of pics from the video shoot for "OCEANS OF CONSCIOUSNESS". ..
