    In addition to making the best engines in the world, we have a strong connection with music. Our CEO is the lead guitarist in our corporate rock band, the Briggs’ Blues Busters, and is also on the board of directors for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. We have our own stage, called the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard, at the world's largest music festival, Summerfest. Summerfest features 11 days of music on 11 stages showcasing over 700 bands, and it takes place right in our hometown - Milwaukee, WI.

    We’d like to give an undiscovered band a chance to play live at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage on June 28th. The process is simple: Enter. Vote. Win. Rock. Oh, and the winning band will be given the rock star treatment. Click here for complete contest details.

    Hello!

    I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.

    There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a link to the video for a new tune called Run Bobby Run:

    We wanted to take a minute and post about our weekend in Milwaukee. It's safe to say that The Run Around as individuals and as a band had the time of our lives over the past few days.

    When Briggs and Stratton said rockstar treatment they absolutely were not kidding. Between the Limo rides, TV appearances, Fine Dining, hanging out with real rockstars (Blues Traveler) and playing their amazing stage it's safe to say we now know how the other half live:)

    Every single employee of Briggs and Stratton we met were a pleasure to work with and contributed to our amazing time in Milwaukee... We've been told this contest will happen again next year and we hope all of you return for it!

    Good luck to you all and thanks again Briggs and Stratton!!!

    It is with great pride, humility and sincerity that we send congratulations out to all the 777 bands that participated in this celebration of music. A special nod goes to Nomad, Shuvlhed and Kyle Megna for being such formidable opponents.

    Shuvlhed: Our Illinois brothers... You guys have been nothing but pro's throughout the competition and we would gladly share a stage with you anytime!! We hope to keep in touch and make that a reality sometime soon!

    Nomad: you might not be the national act that some may have assumed but that doesn't mean you won't be soon... Personally, I haven't got "Alone When You're Lonely" out of my head for two months! You're a good group of guys with a big future!

    Kyle Megna Band: you guys have been our boys since early in the 1st round... 6 months as a band and you already have a great album out... That's impressive by anyone's standard... There's no doubt you guys have competitions to win in your future...

    We had the pleasure of talking with all 3 bands at one point or another and we couldn't have asked for a higher quality of people and musicians to be grouped with...

    To our fans, friends and family: Thank you all for the love, support and compulsive voting habits.
