About Bright Blue Gorilla-filmmakers, actors, musicians
Karate Film Café - Trailer (Karate School)
Bright Blue Gorilla is in Europe on a cinema tour with their 3rd feature film: Karate Film Café. BBG does a concert to warm up the cinema crowd, then shows Karate Film Café, followed by Q&A from the audience. (BBG is also doing concerts at select music venues - with and without Karate Film Café.) Robyn & Michael head back to Los Angeles in May 2009 - to release Karate Film Café stateside. They'll also shoot their 4th feature and record a new CD while in Los Angeles. (Busy apes!)
BBG's 2nd film was The Mind of Henry Lime. Henry Lime won the "Best Comedy Feature" award at the SMTV Film Festival in Bombay, and was an "Official Selection" of both the Arhus Film Festival in Denmark and the Portabello Festival in London. The End of The Pier Film Fest in the UK gave Henry Lime a "Special Commendation" in the "Best Feature Film" category. BBG's 1st film was the rough-but-lovable Sister Sarah's Sky, starring Sarah Rosenkrantz (age 14 when shooting began) supported by a cast of pro L.A. actors. All the BBG feature films are written and directed by Michael Glover and produced by Robyn Rosenkrantz - with music by Bright Blue Gorilla of course!
BBG has released 11 CDs and has been touring all over the world - with hardly a pause - since 1990. They've shared the stage and screen with artists such as Lily Thomlin, Alec Baldwin, Suzanne Vega, Toni Collette, Loudon Wainwright, Buck Henry, Matthew Broderick and many many others. (You can see BBG in the film "The Last Shot" with Alec Baldwin and Matthew Broderick. A Touchstone Pictures Release.)
It all started in 1990, when Robyn & Michael quit their L.A. jobs, sold everything they had (except their guitars), and bought one-way tickets to Europe. They’ve been living a life of music and adventure ever since.

How are my very favorite Gorillas and how is "the road" treating you this time around? I hope this message finds you both happy, healthy, and doing great, in what I hope will be a wonderful new year for everyone! A good friend of mine,("a waitress named Sizzling Ruth"...she works at The Skylark Diner in downtown Denver)says to say "Hi".
Some guy in a poolhall last night had some words of wisdom for the new year that I thought I better pass along to you both. He said, and I quote, "never eat anything that is bigger than your head"! Sounds pretty smart if you ask me!
Drop me a line when you can and I will raise a glass in your direction ( Holland? ) tonight from Berlin! Cheers and best wishes! Yer Friend & Fan, John
