"BrightonLiveSpace - probably the most comprehensive live-music listings for the town, written by people who actually seem to go to most of them, with gig reviews and a ridiculously enthusiastic weekly digest about what's on the way" - Cheeky Guide to Brighton
We set up this page to share our passion for live music in Brighton with other like-minded souls. Since we started in January 2006, we have been overwhelmed with the interest in the site, and amazed by the number of musicians and bands, promoters, venues and music fans who have become our friends via MySpace!
Our main aim is to provide a comprehensive, up-to-date listing of gig dates in Brighton and Hove (subject to gig-going and other commitments!). We get the gig details from venues, promoters, ticket agents and local bands themselves (though sometimes these sources contradict each other!). Before travelling to a gig, please confirm the details with the venues, as we are not usually given accurate timings, or told if a gig has been cancelled.
Who I'd like to meet:
Gig-goers, bands, musicians, venues and promoters in the Brighton and Hove area are all very welcome to join us. Please let us know if you are aware of a gig that is missing from, or incorrect in our calendar. (We only show a few weeks’ listings at a time, and keep the others hidden until nearer the time).
Please note that we accept add requests from local bands only, though are happy to list all Brighton gig dates.
Please forgive us if we don’t answer your messages regarding finding venues or booking gigs. We are NOT PROMOTERS! and cannot help you! Please see the useful links on our page instead.
Go to youtube, search "abbomusic" all our stuff (so far) is there and its free for your ears. It's all been made with blood sweat and tears, by us, and has cost less than a grand to make. Enjoy, and let us know what you think. Take good care. Much love, abbo

GASMASK TERROR D-Beat raw punk with members of Monarch/Year of no Light download their last 7" for free here - http://kangnave.blogspot.com/2009/07/architects-of-death.html http://ratbone.free.fr/gasmaskterror.html
DEAD IN THE WOODS Crushing riff assault. If you took Eyehategod, Kiss it Goodbye and Buzzoven chopped them up and reassembled the parts on an icy mountain-top, the result would be Dead in the Woods. Chuck some HHIG/Fudge Tunnel/Integrity into the mix as well. Heavy bludgeoning metallic hardcore like they used to do in the mid 90s. Ex-Army Of Flying Robots/Moloch www.myspace.com/thedeadinthewoods
THE GOOD WIFE Imagine an unholy meeting between Oxbow, The Jesus Lizard and the Stooges in the philosophy / adult aisle of your local library, and you might be halfway there. New 7" out on Super Fi records http://www.myspace.com/tgwuk
