Hello! Below is the current schedule for the Brighton Zine Fest 2010. There's still a bunch of stuff to be organised so we'll keep updating as things are confirmed.
Currently the most important news is that we're having a mixtape/mixcd trading post from Thursday to Sunday so put some motherfucking songs on a motherfucking cassette and get some other person's idea of good music back.
Apologies if you went on the website recently and were offended by the penis picture.
Thursday 18th February: Zine and craft trading evening (no cash allowed), acoustic music, beer, cakes. Coachwerks art space, Hollingdean Terrace
Friday 19th February: Gig! The Arteries, Rooftops, This Business is Closed, Sauna Youth, the Social Club (not in that order) Putting the fun in fundraiser. Cowley Club, 12 London Road.
Saturday 20th February: Zine Fayre, workshops, talks, snacks. Hanover Community Centre (afternoon) Vegan dinner and a show. BYOB. Westhill Community Hall (evening)
Sunday 21st February: Vegan Sunday roast and film showings. Cowley Club
Stall invites will be going out soon and we should open up applications in January.
We have a proper website as well which looks better than myspace and will be updated with info as it comes and forthcoming events.br />
Go and have a browse round Corndog Distro for a wonderful selection of zines from all over the world. It's run by Andrew Culture who also writes the fantastic Beat Motel zine and was kind enough to let us put some of his photos of the zine fest up.
You should also find the time to go and admire the artwork of Mr. William Exley who designed our beautiful zine fest flyers and posters.

Ten Songs Podcast #9
Oi oi, this is the first of two, possibly three shows focusing on punk and hardcore my home city of Southampton. Ten Songs #10 will be a retrospective show featuring classic tracks from local DIY bands from between 2000-2007. This show however features a set of some of the current hardcore bands who are playing shows and putting out records – I’m playing an unreleased track from Whole In The Head, a Goodwife song for their forthcoming 7 inch as well tracks from demos by Defier & Like Grenades. I wanted to show that there are still plenty of bands locally worth checking out before we get into the history lessions. This town aint dead yet, you know? Yeah.
As well as these tracks, I’m also playing songs from Paul Baribeau/Ginger Alford, Radio Faces, Pure Country Gold, Lemuria and Get Serious.

#8 is Augusts show. Right now, I'm hoping the rain will finally stop for a decent amount of time and we can actually have a summer but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one. Oh well. Anyhow, I picked up the latest issue of Cometbus and with it the Pinhead Gunpowder best of. So this month I'm playing a set of Aaron Cometbus related bands (Pinhead Gunpowder, Astrid Oto, The Blank Fight, Colbom) to soundtrack those cancelled camping trips and rained off hikes. The other bands I'm playing this out are The Ergs!, Criminal Damage, Have Heart, Undertow, No Substance and Spoonboy.
